I’m not going to lie and say that I’m not biased, I really like her character and agree she’s done some unforgivable things. However, we know she’s going to get a redemption arc because of her popularity. You can tell they’re already starting to “humanize” her by updating her latest cinematic model in the Shadowlands Story trailer (namely the softer facial features, pupils, etc).
Given this, what do you guys think is likely to play out? I’m hoping they just don’t make her takeover as Jailer to finally control her own destiny/death as a self sacrifice to restore order. I don’t want another marauder like the Lich King or Illidan.
Thoughts?
I’d say it’s a bit early to assume that. Not gonna lie I did burn a tree or two at Teldrassil but I think she doesn’t deserve forgiveness.
I hope she’s a loot pinata and that her tortured helf soul (if any left finds peace).

She got updated because the graphics got updated for everyone. Also the cinematics use different models than the in game stuff ( Shaw is a big clue to this because his cinematic hair and stache aren’t in the actual game )
For stuff like pupils I can easily defend this. I had a tiefling in dnd that had no visible pupils. I had to keep pointing out where the heck his eyes were looking because people would be so confused.
There’s a big quality drop between the in game model of Sylv’s new look and what you saw in the trailer
I dont think she’s gonna get redeemed. I think at absolute best, as a result of her villainous actions, she will have accidentally made the cycle of death better, but in the end, even that will have been just a result of her selfish desire to avoid the hell she’s earned.
She won’t get a redemption. Her soul will be obliterated.

How do we know it already wasn’t the first time she was killed by Arthas? What if the “good version” is trapped like Uther, and the one rampaging about now is the corrupted version?
I would really hope they don’t do that, but anything is possible

Sylv had no connection to the light like Uther did.
It was all a big misunderstanding.
Also, the friends she made along the way.

You’re not wrong, but I don’t think it’s tied to being connected to the “light”, nor why his soul was split. Who knows, I don’t know anything though lol.
The glowing yellow soul wasn’t a big enough hint that the light was involved? After Uther specifically asks for it to save his soul?
You have a point, I just think it’s not as interesting if he’s a unique case because the “light” saved him. What even is the light anyways, lmao.
I hope with nearly every fiber of my being that Uther is a special case and that don’t pull that tripe with Sylvanas, cause that would take something interesting and unique and turn it into a crutch they could theoretically use for EVERY villain that has ever died in WoW lore. Like, could you imagine if they pulled that with someone like Kel’thuzad?Or Gul’dan!?? Uuuuuuugh.
No, Sylvanas has done unspeakable things since she first regained her free will and she needs to answer for all her crimes.

She was right all along and Shadowlands is stealing souls from mortal realm instead of whatever was before
2nd to last raid boss, in the Jailer Raid. Garrosh 2.0, but without the time travel and a small chance of redemption. But Blizzard would really have to sell me on it.
Like, she ditched the horde and two of the Alliance leaders wants her head on a pike. Redemption is possible, but highly unlikely IMHO.
How do I think it’ll play out? With my sword or arrows finishing her off. For good. For Teldrassil.
I stand with Tyrande.
Sylvanas was a night elf before Arthas\Lich King killed her and made her what she is. She should of known better. If there was anything left to her old self, she would have stopped herself from burning the tree and the innocents.

Thank you! I’d be tickled pink if my character ever made it into the actual story. Even if I was just a bodyguard or something for Tyrande. But we’re getting off topic X.x

Wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense for Sylvanas to be redeemed, but this is Blizzard we’re talking about so I can’t rule out the possibility.
I don’t even want to think about what loops the story would go through to make it happen.
Gives me conniptions.
She’ll last hit the Jailor, raise her bow and say “AZEROTH IS FREE” and then everyone will cheer and forget the awful stuff she’s done.
The writing team are hacks that got hired because of nepotism. Just think of the dumbest outcome and it’ll probably be worse than that.
