Sylvanas' power level?

I thought this might be a nice breather from the controversy, although it is still about Sylvanas. How strong do you feel Sylvanas is, and why? I feel like we haven’t seen the full extent of her banshee powers yet as she seems pretty attached to her body atm to do Dark Ranger stuff.

She always was strong but had ill definied powers. In the RPG she was something like a CR 50, making her stronger than almost anyone but Arthas. In game she rarely showed much power until BFA when she showed off flying and turning into “Death Mist” for the first time.

Exactly as powerful as the plot demands, no more, no less. Able to stand toe to toe with a nigh demi-god of Nature, or taken out by a mook with a shotgun, depending on what the story needs.

It varies by plot design.

It does sort of vary with the plot, but there are some markers.

Pre-undeath, she was a top-tier ranger, similar to her sisters and mother. But as we saw in the recent cinematic, Arthas was able to essentially one-shot her.

In ICC she goes after Arthas, and while he is too powerful for her, she does hold her own for quite awhile (in melee!) before being forced to flee with the PCs. So that’s a pretty significant upgrade.

In Cataclysm, the shade of Sylvanas is able to shut down magic with her wail and summon hordes of skeletons.

At the Broken Shore she mows down demons pretty handily. She’s also able to lift Vol’jin with one hand. In Stormheim, Genn gets the jump on her and she comes away without a scratch.

In BfA we saw that she can melt people pretty effortlessly. “A Good War” puts her on par with Tyrande and Malfurion - she considers herself an even match for either, and Malfurion seems to share this assessment, acknowledging that he might die facing her.

So she’s definitely steadily grown in power, and is definitely top tier now. I’d say the only faction leaders who would have a good shot against her would be Malfurion, Tyrande, Thrall with his mojo back, Jaina, and maybe Turalyon. Then there are question marks - Anduin and Velen are both strong with the Light but Anduin is inexperienced and Velen is never shown as much of a front line fighter. Alleria is a possibility, but we really have no idea what her void powers amount to in combat.

That she has grown in power makes one wonder how she managed it… Did the Valkyr give her power? Did she build herself up through practice or does the Void calling her an abomination have anything to do with it? I suspect the last one.

It would be funny if she turned herself into a Void Ethereal AKA Shadreen herself(Shadreen is hinted to be important and seems to wear the Tempest Crown which will clearly be grabbed in the N’Zoth Raid alongside the Dagger Xal’atath by Sylvanas leaving the other 2 Artifacts).

She has always been for Forsaken casting away their past including their names so why wouldn’t she adopt a new name once she casts aside her body?

Over 9000.

I think Sylvanas gained her mysterious BFA buff with 1 simple trick:

Someone at Blizz realized that with the Alliance having 5 angry demigods and the Horde having 0 BFA was gonna be really short and stupid. So now it’s 5 vs 1 demigods so it’s merely really stupid.

With how Sylvanas is grabbing Xal’atath and how the Tempest Crown(which resembles Shadreen’s crown aside from being Blue rather than Purple) is also going to disappear from the Crucible of Storms leaving the other 2 relics to be looted by the Raiders I still suspect she is going to bind her Banshee form in Bandages, place the Tempest Crown on her head and rename herself Shadreen.

She has no magic power on her side.

Best she can do is turn into a banshee and we kill those by the hundreds.
She is good with a bow.

Check Garrosh who was good with an axe and how he fared against Thrall.

She went toe to toe with Malfurion, /thread.

I guess it’s up to the writer, but I read that elven rangers did/do use nature magic and dark rangers instead use shadow magic since they can’t call upon the natural stuff anymore. We’ve seen her raise the dead and use dark arrows and what not, so we know she has some magic on her side.

The only explanation would be how old of a banshee she is and/or her strentgh of will, but I have to assume her banshee form would be more powerful than one you’d find wandering the Plaguelands.

Everything I’ve read does imply that she trusts her ranger side more than her banshee side, however.

She is like Batman.
She is weak but always have some sort of trick to scrape by in the end.

Thats where the writer comes into play.

She’s like Vegeta
She isn’t the strongest in the world but you’re not fist pumping when you see her on your side of the draw.

She is an undead elf with a bow and poison arrows.
Nothing more.

I think we’ve got evidence to say there is more, but I’m not gonna argue with you over it.

You just woke up in the twilight zone, here in this world, Sylvanas is only an UD elf with a bow and poison arrows.

If you have evidence of anything that points out that she is more other than inexplicable powerups then go right ahead and present it.

If you have evidence that points out that she has more powers, other than the multiple new powers that she has, then go right ahead and present it.

Exactly my point.
Sylvanas gets inexplicable power ups.

She is just a banshee Blizzard decided to shower with inexplicable powers that we have never seen before or since.
