I’m sick to death of her character being written as always playing 4 dimensional chess while everyone else is playing checkers, she was never THAT smart and the arrogant sense of superiority she always gives off has thoroughly ruined any redeeming qualities she may have once had.
That’s why I feel it’s high time SHE was actually the one being played as a fool in Shadowlands.
I’m praying we don’t see the scenario where she turns on the Jailer when he is weakened like it was always part of the plan, that’s entirely too predictable and just unrealistic. As I said, nobody is THAT smart.
Rather, I want to see her gloating near the end like she has everything in her grasp just to have the tables completely turned on her entirely by the Jailer or whoever he is guarding. I want to see her eyes widen in horror and disbelief as her captor disparages her foolish presumption that she was playing them for a fool.

‘Yes little banshee, I know your intent because it suited my purposes for you to follow the path I laid out for you so many years ago. Everything you have done, EVERYTHING, has been by my design! It has led you to this…and to me, exactly as I intended.’
Part of me feels she is just pissed off she didn’t get to kill Arthas herself. I am willing to bet this is all just one long and drawn out plan to bring Arthas back so she can kill him and then turn on us because we ganked him first.
I’m going to disagree OP. If she gets duped that will make some people pity her. I want her to be ever more evil as the xpac goes on and we just put her down with no betrayals either way.
Varimathras was tortured almost to death and I didn’t feel an ounce of pity for him when we cut off his head. To me, it was a fittingly ignoble end for a character that thought he was smarter than everyone else.
If we killed some wretched husk of Sylvanas left to rot by the Jailer, I think that’d be equally fitting. Dying bereft of any friends or allies and betrayed to her end as a trinket discarded once it had served its purpose.
Sylvanas would HATE that kind of ignoble end and that’s exactly why I’d personally derive so much enjoyment from it.
I mean, you can say that but she did pivot into forcing a Dreadlord to serve her in Warcraft III

I mean, it sounds like the usual turning point that we see in .3 patches. Azshara being small fry compared to the entity we released. Gul’dan subverting the Iron Horde into something worse. Etc
I’d personally like to see Bolvar get the drop on her and get the justice he deserved in the SL cinematic.
I agree too. It’d be amazing if the Jailer just betrayed her at some point. They’re technically on the same side and it’s been said they have the same goals. But it’s still clear who’s really in charge here. Maybe at the end of her raid fight he’ll just take her power away and leave the rest to us.
Difference here is nobody ever liked Varimathras. People love Sylvanas, even now. If what you propose happens the forums here would get flooded with her supporters bemoaning her fate and how she was mistreated.
She doesn’t deserve any pity at all. She needs to die in a way that even her most ardent supporters will feel she deserved it.
She’ll get pitied by her rabid fanbase regardless of what happens to her. The louder they scream, the more convinced I will be that her end was done right.
