Even if you don’t need to breathe to survive you still need to breathe to be able to talk. Tyrande might not have been trying to kill Sylvanas by choking her but rather trying to make her shut up.

Well they’re the same people who thought at the very beginning that Undead has lungs still which explains why they still drown underwater like living people but take a lot longer, so …
dunno but she’s got … big… lung… accessories.
I don’t think she’s gasping to breath but rather to gloat. Even if one doesn’t need oxygen to live, air still needs to pass through the vocal chords to produce a sound facilitating a need to “breath” to gloat.
