Sylvanas looks like a void elf. For years and years Horde players wished they could dress up their character like the undead leader Sylvanas Windrunner. However, time and time again their armor sets fell short. Their character customizations fell short.
Then came the void elves.
And then came 9.1 where Sylvanas loses her red eyes. They turn blue. At this point blood elves have blue eyes, but only void elves have blue skin.
I played a void elf. Alliance people every so often would tell me “Sylvanas is Horde” even though she is not. Didn’t they see the part where she killed Saurfang and left the Horde? Now, fast forward to 9.2 and Sylvanas has blue armor and is helping the Alliance.
Dark rangers never happened and at this point they never will. Sylvanas the character will likely be put on a shelf in the story, perhaps to spend eternity in the Shadowlands.
And yet… the fans of Warcraft still want to play characters that look like her or dark rangers even. This isn’t a call for change. I am just pointing out… perhaps a void elf is the closest you will get to ever being like Sylvanas Windrunner or her Dark Rangers.

It might be due to family semblance with the Windrunner family.

Just my opinion, but I don’t think we should be able to look like NPCs anyway.

My hunter already looks like a Dark Ranger due to transmog that turns her eyes red.
Void Elves don’t have that. They are just blue. So that makes them look undead.
The only ones that have the completely pale dead skintone are death knights. It’s locked off for all other elves.

Right! So I play the blood elf death knight. Whispers are like “Sylvanas is a hunter” OH MY GOD YOU SOLVED THE CASE SHERLOCK HOLMES I DIDN’T KNOW SHE WAS A HUNTER!!!
I think she’s a hunter/rogue/banshee. She’s got that NPC cheat going on.
I don’t care about that. I can multiclass those things quite fine. The banshee part is more of a role playing thing anyway.
Hunter, rogue… I don’t stop there though… I just make alts of all the classes. Why not? It’s more outfits.
My issue is the skin tones.
Undead should be allowed to pick their race. That would have fixed everything.
There definitely needs to be that and the eyes available to everyone. So that everyone can pick how they want their character to look.

This is why I think… we are being tube-fed SLOWLY so we are never quite satisfied and always left WANTING MORE which is a feeling I despise.
