Sylvanas would benefit more from turning into a banshee to travel than posthaste.
This is most likely to happen imo.
Am I the only one that was really waiting for this in the cinematic?
Tyrande should have been able to dispatch Barbie the way Barbie slapped Saurfang and Bolvar…
That would have been amazing.
Those are examples of good ones that died or got the shaft. But I like it being made apparent that they screwed them all over. Them promising stuff for Vol’jin and it being this short questline was disappointing.
Blizz has gotten to the point where they’ve gone through most of our leaders and there’s nothing really left. All because they need to make us the “bad guys” for the Alliance to look more superior against, before they have us all come together and hold hands and care bear stare down the next big baddie.
I really liked the part where her sisters are there to witness her judgement, and the dialogue afterwards.
I think the story is salvageable, so I’m gonna give it a chance.
The whole arthas thing though? x100
Her story should have ended in wotlk being impaled on a saronite spike when she jumped, the devs failed to have any motivation for her outside of revenge so she should have died after arthas was dead
There’s no justifying the actions of a psychopath. She will never repent nor feel any remorse. WoW jail is the best answer short of third death…fourth??
This whole story is nuts.
I don’t JUST blame the devs, a very vocal part of the fan base wants the Horde to equal Sith in SWTOR.
The Horde was that way in the simple themed WC1 and WC2. Since WC3 and WoW Blizzard was more about subverting expectations and having the monster faction be good guys.
Just look at the people above screaming Yess queen at burning the tree. Which one of the original Horde leaders in WC3 would support that? Only Sylvanas possibly in Vanilla and maybe later Garrosh. Even the Sylvanas one is questionable depending on if you ask Afrosalami or the other devs…
Yep, it’s weird, some want the Horde of the earlier RTS games. And the Horde in WoW was never that. And story on our side and just in general has suffered for this need of them to be the bad guys. We are left with nothing. It’s lost it’s entire identity.
It’s pretty obvious the crash is just hiding the moment Jiana gives sylvania a get of Maw free card.
She burned the tree to serve the game developers. This is a problem with all extended dramas, not just games. After a few “seasons” the writers/producers force drama that doesn’t come naturally to the characters in order to create dramatic moments.
It’s poor writing.
(To me, the most pathetic moment was Sylvanas working with Nathanos. It was absurd.
Burning the tree was at least a story of power going to someone’s head. It’s a tragedy and a descent into madness. Instead of using that, the writers tried to resuscitate her [again you see this in long-running dramas and it’s just as annoying.]
Sylvanas would never have joined with Nathanos; rather she would have become a brutal dictator over all The Horde. She would have slaughtered most of us in The Horde. With her connection to death, she would have killed The Arbiter and manipulated The Jailer into doing her bidding. Make her madness, cruelty and evil real.)
Exactly! It was set up perfectly for that and they just let the opportunity slide by.
Danuser had to write himself into the story somehow
Depends on which Sylvanas. Earlier Sylvanas sends us to Nathanos after we completed the Ghostlands in TBC. But Sylvanas after jumping from ICC changed. She became more ruthless and less caring. Even towards her own people.
After she’s done her job in the Maw, let her stay there forever!
COMMENTARY: The entitled night elf players got their wish. Constant crying how much they hate X Horde character that isn’t a subservient wimp to their faction.
RIP Sylvanas… one of the last interesting characters in Warcraft, can’t wait for all the boring Anduin, Thrall, Jaina, Baine Kumbaya rhetoric we’re going to get for the next 5+ years… so boring and bland.
MOCKERY: They want us to believe that she deserves the maw where Kael’thas, Kelthuzad, Vashj who were planning flat out planetary genocide don’t.
There’s a dude in Revendreth who’s responsible for destroying MULTIPLE GALAXIES but nope nope…Sylvanas is the greatest evil to ever exist.
Yeah should’ve sent those 4 to watch over Sylvanas in the maw, kept the owl up top and brought some new faces into the story
Doing Maw dailies for eternity is, in itself, a fate worse then death ever could hope to be.
COMMENTARY: honestly this is supposed to be the end of a chapter… they should have just shelved multiple characters and give us a 50 year time skip.
