Sylvanas Boss Fight dungeon guide text **Spoilers**

It’s a pretty nice mount for sure.

I’m going to have to finally level this toon and fight Sylvanas to get that Bow and Quiver, aren’t I? They’re perfect for a Forsaken Hunter.

The fact that the Dungeon Journal states that the Sylvanas Boss Fight ends at the convergence of the Shadowlands I would assume once the Boss Fight is over the Convergence will be torn asunder revealing the Black Forest between Life and Death.

The Black Forest being between Life and Death is outright stated by the Spirit Healers in the Uuna Questline so no arguing that it isn’t beyond the Convergence of the Shadowlands above Oribos!

To the Black Forest the Maw-Darkened spire of Oribos(anyone who has seen 9.1’s Oribos knows it is now Darkened by the Maw) would be right above it…

  • Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron: "Beneath the shadow of the darkened spire, there is no light, no mercy, only void, and the chaos within."

The Void is about to be invaded by the Maw directly from Oribos it seems!

The Void is between the Shadowlands and the Gardens of Life too it seems(of course if the Cosmology Picture in Chronicle is to be believed so is Order AKA the Great Dark Beyond).

To get to Life the Maw it seems has to get through one of two Cosmic Realms: Void or Order. The Maw is has an entry point to one and is going to make an entry point to the other!

Chaos = Disorder too though, it’s been used interchangeably in-game and in translations where the word “Disorder” doesn’t exist naturally

Whatever is sealed in the Maw is both Chaos/Disorder and Void (and presumably Death)

Where are all these data mined stuff coming from? Can’t find them on WoWhead.

Patch 9.1 Encounter Journal - Sanctum of Domination Sylvanas Abilities

It’s the Convergence that is opened up at the end of the Raid not the Maw which is ascending towards to Convergence of Oribos AKA right above the Arbiter where the Souls are flowing down from!

Once the remaining Keys are claimed the Jailer will have enough freedom to escape alongside Death and invade wherever they please and since Denathrius says all will be washed away except Death and those who aided in it’s victory the Void(or whatever the Black Forest is) is pretty much a big juicy target!

But consider, the Maw is the shadow beneath the Darkened Spire. It’s literally black mist growing and extending beneath Oribos, where there’s a vortex of light and souls at the top of the skybox

The Puzzle Box says beneath the shadow itself not just beneath the spire!

Let’s not forget Il’gynoth’s words: " Its surface blazes bright, masking shadows below."

If the convergence is considered below Oribos and the Maw’s Shadow then it’s surface blazing bright masking shadows below it would be it’s bright surface masking the Black Forest!

The Uuna Questline already states that the Black Forest is between Life and Death! The Convergence above the Arbiter is where Kyrians send Souls to Oribos from regardless of how you interpret Yogg-Saron’s riddles!

Blizzard has already stated that the end of the Raid will cause a visible change that one can see just like how Argus was visible following the Tomb of Sargeras Raid!

Exactly, because the Maw itself is a gate/door

It’s WoW’s version of Tolkien’s Door of Night, beyond the realm of Mandos (death lands), where Morgoth was banished

I like where this discussion is going.

Please also consider Shadowlands is loosley based on H.P. Lovecraft’s Dream Quest of the Unknown Kaddath…

Dang it.

Wrath of the Lich King:
“Hope is an illusion.” - comes from “A Mysterious Voice” in Ahn’kahet (a temple that had become dedicated to Yogg-Saron).

Yoggy boy also said:
“You are a pawn of forces unseen.”

and

“There is no escape. Not in this life, not in the next.”

So I will posit a theory and Baal actually would be best-suited to comment on this I think (due to some of the research on Elune/An’she/etc):

What if Death was “actually” chained? And Death was akin to a “sibling” of Elune?

There are a lot of overlapping references between Death and the Void, some of which seem antagonistic to the current system, but others that suggest the Jailer (a remnant of the prior system) is connected with them somehow.

There are also a number of references to the First Ones. Could it be that a First One, aligned with the Void and Shadowlands, is “chained” due to some other powers (likely some number of “First Ones” or potentially somehow the “Eternal Ones” combined) turning on … he/she/it?

If Blizzard really wanted to ramp up cosmic destruction, unchaining the “anti-Elune” would probably qualify.

Edit: Crap. I just looked back at some of the whispers.

Mindflayer Kaahrj in Dalaran - Your soul will wander roads that twist in endless spirals.

THEY WARNED US ABOUT HAVING TO RUN TORGHAST ENDLESSLY!

“The giant Rook watches from the dead trees. Nothing breathes beneath his shadow. The tortured spirits of your ancestors cling to you. screaming in silence.” -Whispers of Yogg-Saron WoLK

Was about the negotiation cinematic & Saurfang talking about the Horde, and the cycles of hatred.

I’ll say it. It looks better than Invincible.

It’s funny - there are a lot of whispers in Barrowknoll Cemetery, most of them seem to be pointing at BfA-related stuff (N’Zoth and Azeroth). Except for two in particular:

“The burning ones kept balance. Lost now… lost.”

I’ve always held that if you have this balanced dynamic of a cycle - then when you destroy the entirety of the Burning Legion, the avatar (I guess) of disorder, then you’ve also destroyed the balance of the universe.

“She seeks that which must be earned by sacrifice.”

I could see this being Tyrande searching for the power for vengeance (or restoring her people) and having to sacrifice for it.

Or Sylvanas who has sacrificed her connection with everyone and everything on Azeroth, including Nathanos. I suppose it could be taken as a very blood ritual-esque interpretation regarding sacrificing a lot of Night Elves too (though that interprets sacrificing in a different light).

Or some sort of prelude to whatever Azshara is doing, or some sort of red herring, or…

I have a supremely unhealthy love/hate relationship with these whispers.

The sacrifice one is 100% about Sylvanas. Shadows Rising was all about the sacrifices Sylvanas needed to accomplish her goal.

Why I am torturing myself I do not know…

One last one:

Xal’atath - the Priest weapon in Legion, not in BfA - whispers to wielders at certain locations.

At Helya in the Maw of Souls:

“Loken did fine work turning her. But in truth, Odyn’s arrogance takes most of the credit.”

A Dark Place is a forest located in the Shadowlands[1] inhabited by Soul-Eaters. Here, the barriers between the realms of life and death are thin, and spill over into Azeroth.[2] It can be reached by interacting with a Shadow Tear at [66.2, 74.5] in the eye socket of the skull of a green dragon at the Emerald Dragonshrine in the Dragonblight after completing the chain up to this point. This is where the eredar child Uuna was saved by an adventurer.

The source for the statement that it’s in the Shadowlands is Uuna’s Doll description:

Uuna was found bound to an Ur’zul, and was released into the Shadowlands, where she wandered in the utter darkness.

https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Uuna%27s_Doll

From the Spirit Healers(https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Spirit_Healer#Quotes)

I’m looking for a little girl named Uuna, have you seen her?
I have heard the cries of the child you speak of.
I shall mark you, that you may pass into this realm and seek her out.
She resides in a place where the barrier between the realms of life and death are thin, and spill over into your world.
Be warned, you have no power in this place, its denizens cannot be harmed by mortals.
Try as you might, you may not be able to aid your friend.

Uuna is taken to that place by Void Tentacles during her Questline long after we grabbed the Doll and used the Light of Elune to draw her out of the Shadowlands and into reality.

Notice where the Final Battle against Sylvanas happens?
