I gotta say I’m very surprised at how far behind wow is. Swtor has wow beat at every turn as far as convenience. They have one of the best streamlined alt experiences if not THE best out there. You can share all your gear with every toon on your character through mail or bank. There’s player housing. There’s a better skill tree by far. There’s way better story. Better graphics. Better better better.
The game is showing it’s age now, and yes gets whacked in content compared to wow. Wow wins with more players because of nostalgia plus mechanics and smoother gameplay. And I’m not saying I dislike wow…but the obvious can’t be denied. Swtor really does have all the pieces wow is lacking. Just so strange to me that blizzard doesn’t…care enough? I mean when you’re top dog I guess who would. But anyways, strange.

Eh its just a congruent storyline from a single player RPG with some not so awesome endgame tacked on. Plus you have to deal with EA monetization scams. Oh and if you think wow neckbeards are cringe just wait until you meet the star wars fans. Like 3 ok movies circa the 80s and then nothing but hottrash since…actually its sorta like wow and its expansions tbh so maybe scratch that.
Its a game i would 100% suggest for the levelling and story
Its a game i would 100% not suggest to any wow player who likes endgame
No you’re right, the endgame in swtor is what kills it. It’s bad. Nothing to do. That’s why it died. I’m just speaking on the convenience sake, and also the mmo devices that mmos should have. Like player housing and stuff
SWTOR has class fantasy boosted on steroids this is why it’s a fun game for solo players. But an MMO isn’t just about leveling characters.
I’m glad that worked out for SWOTR and that they continue to be the pinnacle of the failed MMO market.
Yeah it failed lol obviously. But you’re completely negating the point I’m making. So
I think you’re underestimating the value of mechanics and smooth gameplay.
Is your point that a super successful game should take pointers for a game that failed very quickly after it was released? Because if it is…that’s a horrible point.
Not at all, that’s why I brought it up. I’m literally pointing out the fact that a failed mmo has a lot of missing pieces a successful mmo SHOULD have. That’s all
You forgot to mention one feature that people have asked for in WoW for years - account-wide rep. SWTOR has had it for years.
It seems to still be alive and thriving; they just announced another expansion.

No but you’re proving my point that a failed mmo has better systems than a successful one and that’s the purpose of this post. Thanks for supporting my point lol
There are a ton of games that beat WoW in most areas. WoW has the end game and replayability going for it.
I guess the devs feel that the raids they put out are worth the price of admission. The price is dealing with multiple systems, unbalanced classes and arbitrary changes.
They sure did. And it looks promising. But I know it’ll be deadish pretty quick. I mean guys I’m not saying I love swtor. It gets so boring. Everyone chill lol I’m pointing out the glaring issues in wow that swtor picks up
“Better” So good in fact that it couldn’t even keep enough paying customers to maintain it’s sub based model.
What was Blizz thinking not creating “better” systems and putting itself out of business.

SWTOR is one of the few games I could point to and say is worse off than WoW.
Spare me.

How many MMOs are still sub-based these days?
Oh. Yeah. Pretty much just this one and FFXIV. And look how that’s working out in terms of content delivery in WoW…
It’s end game is dead. That’s why. It’s weird you’re neglecting reason. If you read what I said you can’t disagree that the player housing and alt leveling system is miles better than wow. You’re just failing at conversation and it’s kind of annoying, just gonna ignore you now lol later
The two top MMOs on the market…
I’m confused about your point.
That is a way to “win” an argument. Just ignore the people pointing out how flawed your argument is.
The SWTOR MMO failed…the systems that you are saying are so great were not great enough to keep players around.
SW:TOR is basically a dead MMORPG that is mostly kept afloat by its solo experience, being one of the last good narratives from Bioware. Blizzard taking inspiration from SW:TOR wouldn’t give me confidence in the future of World of Warcraft as an MMORPG. Sure there’s a few things they could pick up here and there, but SW:TOR as a model to follow, no thank you.

SWTOR was fun, I played through the Sith Inquisitor storyline and it was awesome… Then I never played it again lol, but it was fun… I think the most fun part about SWTOR is that there is actual meaningful choices… Not like picking a covenant… You choose whether to torture someone for information or help them to get information… and that choice impacts your character… not like picking a covenant
