Swords or Daggers?

I don’t know what’s better, but I would just like to be able to kill mobs efficiently while leveling.

Generally Swords. The main dagger attack is Backstab which requires you to be behind the target which while leveling you will only be able to do after a gouge.

Most important stat is weapon DPS, you can go with a slightly less DPS main hand weapon if its slow with a large top end damage range because that is how Sinister strike (your main spell) damage is calculated, but always weapon dps for offhand.

Combat is the spec you want to choose for leveling and it favors swords (and maces) over daggers. Blade Flurry will allow you to solo multi-pulls that dagger rogues can’t handle. Adrenaline Rush lets you solo elites you otherwise couldn’t.

For rogues pvp: daggers as the ambush opener is very strong and can take out casters.
For pve swords due to speed and weapon scaling. Though at lvl 14 shouldn’t really matter, though trolls and orcs tend to be better pve dps due to actives and not have exposed bone parts.

Go daggers, but get world buffs for leveling. You’ll insta delete mobs within an ambush / gouge / backstab.

(But seriously, go swords.)

Really you can level both ways.

Once you have gouge and backstab daggers becomes very effective and fun; you just gotta be on your game with timing. First talents you should get are improved gouge and then down to improved backstab.

After that pick up remorseless attacks and go from there; IMO picking up 2 points or more in precision.

After that it’s up to you on preference in how you want to play.

For a sword build its cake; sinister strike, riposte, precision and go from that point.

Both styles work, I have leveled a number of builds, but these are the easiest.

However after level 30 if you like swords, and want to play hemo go respec and play hemo it’s also very good. IMO if you play hemo dirty deeds is a must have talent for the build, and expose armor is really nice with slice, just remember not to EA when warriors are doing sunder in dungeons, they get mad.

Combat (swords or maces) is a lot easier to level for the average player. It is also a lot easier to dungeon farm at level 60.

Not that you can’t with daggers but combat is faceroll and can solo elites and groups easier.
