Good day, all.
I’m planning to create a NElf alt to get the NElf heritage armor. Since the glaive aresenal that comes with it are swords, I want to use a class that can also use the items.
Right now, I am looking at a Rouge. Subtlety has caught my eye, and I already a have an Outlaw Rogue in my other alt.
To this I would like to ask: I using a sword viable as a Subtlety Rouge, even as an off-hand option, or are my only choices between Outlaw Rouge or Protection Warrior.
Thanks for anu info you can give.

It is viable but must be used in the off hand to work around backstab/gloomblade abilities arbitrarily being locked to only daggers.

Usable but not recommended. You generate less combo points from auto attacks.
Can use a Sword/Axe/Mace/Fist Wep in the offhand for Sub.
Unless they’ve changed it, most proc things are normalised for the longer swing timer.
i use a sword in my offhand because of the added mastery as Sub
you are going to:
apply less poisons
get a lower proc rate
less combo points
among a few other things that are based upon your playstyle
you will have to stick to your target longer to do dmg… meaning, you cant really play an elusive playstyle. — NE is an ELUSIVE race.
what you get:
higher white dmg
higher crits
easier to break combat due to sword being slower
some swords offer benefits that you’d never find on a dagger
thats for off hand.
its viable. you just need farm a really useful sword because you are looking for a sword that procs an effect or offer something to make up for the disadvantages.
Actually decided to swap my sword for a dagger and try that out without the added mastery last night. Does it also give more energy? Is this noticeable? for my question its regarding pvp
your question was already answered above.
procs are procs. procs benefit energy.
