Sword spec or axe spec for WARRIORS?

Someone do the math for me! I need to know:

  • For orcs
  • For humans
  • For PvP (each race)
  • For PvE
  • For Arms
  • For Fury

I need it all. Give me it all!

Edit: If nobody does the math for me by the time I’m home from work tonight, I’ll take a stab at doing my own dang math.

Or you could google the countless analyses and theory crafting done on wowhead and YouTube on this topic?

Swords are typically are better for tanking, however for orc the axe bonus is great

Do you have one in mind that is accurate that you’d be up for recommending to me? I’m googling as we speak, that doesn’t give me any idea of the accuracy of the results I find.

If you are an orc, use an axe unless you have a sword or mace that is obviously better…

I need the big picture. I need the maths. My goal: understanding the why.

If memory serves right, Kargoz has done some good warrior guides/breakouts on this.

If you are a human, use a sword unless you have an axe or mace that is obviously better. (mace spec provides no dps increase)

Orcs get Axe Specialization, go AXE!

http s://classic.wowhead.com/spell=20574/axe-specialization

Go with Race Spec bonus

After that…what excites you the most?

Because really, that is about as relevant as all the theorycrafting in the universe against test meters. I love those nerds but anyone can make a statistical case in a vacuum of 1v1 or just dps, or just threat meters etc…the game is far more fluid than that.

The important thing - you are rolling a warrior - and you need to stay motivated until 60.

I’m axe right now, but I need to know theoretical top end performance capabilities of an orc with axe vs orc with sword and human with axe vs human with sword.

I’ve heard sword can be higher dps regardless but that’s just a rumor.

lolminmaxers … some even too lazy to work it out for themselves.

Well, I’m a mathematics major and the theoretical upside is what excites me! In short, the math! So by asking about this I’m doing what excites me. Don’t worry, this won’t be my first warrior leveled to 60 (although the first one was during TBC, and then proceeded on to 70)

What does this mean? Against what? Which scenario? What build?

Your spec will have more impact than weapon type. Just play, dude :stuck_out_tongue:

Kill Your Television. Sciences are a bad religion.

Take it from a dude with a Physics Math BS: play :stuck_out_tongue: Your brain will fill up with all that stuff later. PLUS. Whatever you find out there, you’ll be able to improve, so if you want to know the answer, then it is time for you to step up and tell US the answer :stuck_out_tongue:

All axes do more damage then their counterpart Sword as do Maces, I believe.

higher skill more chance to hit means more dps, more rage more crits, more abilities used per hour higher dps!

Well, this character will either specialize in dual wield fury dps (against mobs in pve) or in 2 hander arms dps (against other players in pvp). So my goal is to learn how to maximize dps in either spec.

Just go Google a cookie cutter guide if min/max/BiS is your goal.

Fury Warrior Orc with axes and a shaman with Windfury Totem!

Pvp there really isn’t a max dps, its based on when you can or are allowed to hit another players lol
