So I’ve recently made a 29 twink rogue, and I’m currently dagger spec. I’ve got 30% crit in BS and ambush and I love it, I feel like the counter to healers and the efc in wsg. However, almost every twink I see is sword spec. Am I really missing out? I feel like most rogues go swords because they get beaten by swords and think “hmm this must be better”. Swords seems good vs rogues, but daggers seems good vs priests (which are more important targets imo).
So what do you guys think? What am I missing?
Daggers are going to be more bursty damage, and are more difficult to play with (positional requirement, and all that).
Swords can be used regardless of position, and have more consistent damage.
I think daggers are way more fun for a rogue twink. Swords are just more straight-forward since you dont have to get behind the enemy (possibly using gouge to do so)
Both are good though.
Daggers is so much more fun imo. My 29 rogue is full glass cannon (371 ap unbuffed 14.75 crit) for ambush. So just under 60% crit for ambush. Consistently get 600-700 ambush crits (700 is a crusader proc). Had a few 850+ crits with zerker (1 shots some people).
I don’t play imp backstab though, not worth it imo. I play 0/0/20. Improved sap is insane in a bracket where every other rogue doesn’t have it, nor the stealth talents. I always get the opener on other rogues too since everyone is combat (and I’m NE).
