Switching to Classic?

Given the WoW dev team’s troubling vision for the future of WoW (as per Ion’s interview with Preach), will you switch to Classic? Stay? Or Quit?

I already quit primarily because I don’t feel wanted or respected in this game, and I think the Shadowlands content is abhorrent.

You do you.

Stay or quit (have quit before and can again), Switching to Classic or The Boring Crusade is not a good option as both are shadows of their former selves and inferior to retail in every way.

Troubling vision of the future. The drama queens on this board I swear.

Translation : they won’t do exactly what the OP feels the game needs.

First thing which popped into my head.

Stay, I like this side of WoW. Staying in the future.

I have no interest in Classic and don’t feel any desire to quit.

For now I’m enjoying, for now I’m leveling so many alts to 60 and take my time to get the seasonal rewards without boosting and I’m liking the direction of Torghast for 9.1

Personally, I agree and so many things what Ion said… the only thing it bothered me is that Ion didn’t consider about PvP but whatever.
I rather quit, Classic and TBC is not catered to me.

Can i have your gold?

I play classic because I like it not because of where retail is going. To be honest I still liked the end game in retail I just missed leveling.

I’ll never choose Classic over Retail.

maybe it’s just me, but this seems like a very odd thing to say.

i don’t think i’ve ever asked myself if a game makes me feel this way.

I do play, and porbs will play, both. It’s a mood thing. If I feel like the journey, I’ll play classic. If I feel like pewpewing, I’ll play retail. Both versions have things I enjoy.

I gave Classic a serious try for like a month, but the ratio of reward per time invested was just way too low for me to stick with it. I’ll just keep playing old content (BFA and earlier) in Retail for the foreseeable future and hope that the devs never go back and muck it all it up somehow.

Troubling vision? Shadowlands is fun to me and there is plenty of excitement ahead. I can’t wait for some of the changes and the new content. Plus still having fun playing now.

However, I won’t switch to classic. It is very dated content and I already experienced it all years ago. I just have no interest in it.

I am staying. I played BC/Wrath for like 12 years on pservers. Had enough for it. Old mechanics, most of which are pretty boring. Modern fight mechanics are much more fun. Classes back then were limited and if you think meta is bad now, you surely forgot about WoW Classic (vanilla).

Game has a lot less activities and basically forces you to raid to get good in PvE. I dont have time to sit down and spend 3 hours in 1 raid. I love my wife and much rather spend time with her after 1 M+ 30m run.

THE only think I miss, and its Wrath, are warrior tanks and holy paladin Holy Light AoE.

I’ll be staying, leveling my alts when flying is available

I’ve tried classic I like it but it doesn’t provide qol I need which is lfg and no I’m not talking lfg channel.

Retail idk I’ve tried off and on to get into sl but it’s hard for me I get bored playing alone and all my friends quit. Been leveling so many alts this expac because of it. I mean yea I will eventually come back but atm I just play when I want.

Currently waiting for a game to come out near end of this month. Idc if people enjoy sl and want to stay they doing them. For me though it’s just a constant struggle logging on and wanting to play but I’m leveling my new main too so it’s pretty boring for now.

I’ve played Classic, when it was, you know, WoW. And I’ve tried going back.

And it turns out that all the QoL additions in modern WoW make going back that much more annoying. Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be.

That said, I also still enjoy the game as it stands, so I don’t expect to be quitting any time soon.
