Switching Specialisation?

So I’ve been using my Level 77 Arcane Mage since Level 1 and never switched. However, my curiosity got the better of me and I thought the right thing to do is to experiment with fire and frost to see what suits me best.

But after switching, I found it all very foreign. Maybe I just need time to get used to it but I wanted some feedback if this is the right thing to do at Level 77 or if switching specialisation is something that shouldn’t be done this early / late?

Thank you!

Leveling is a good time to learn the basics of other specs. Late game you’ll start getting item specific builds but where you’re at it’s not too important.

It’s not too important now, Arcane is probably the best spec for leveling, in fact. I would start worrying about trying the other specs once you get to around 105 or so

Leveling my mage I usually would switch every 10 levels just to spice things up a bit. Is it a good idea? Iunno. That’s all on how you feel. To me, it certainly made me realize what are my favorite and least favorite things about the class.

Frost kind of sucks until you get your higher end talents like ebonbolt, splitting ice and glacial spike. If you want to learn it now, just realize it will change dramatically once you acquire those abilities.

I think I’ll switch back to Arcane. I’ve gotten a little bit attached to certain spells and the flow of the play style. But damn fire mage has some powerful spells!
