So we could instantly switch styles before based on the mount we chose. Now we have a lousy 5 second cast time. Terrible idea!
Agreed. At the very least the player should be able to select which mounts are Skyriding and which are Standard TBC flight style mounts.
I use old flight most of the time, but prior to this patch if i were in a hurry, i’d land and hop onto a DR mount, now with the switch cast time, i think i’ll just stay on old flying indefinitely
It should have the same time as a mount cast. If it has any at all
I’m with Virus, above. Taking away choice is not a good idea to keep users happy. I want my “regular” mounts to fly old-style and when I want to speed across the maps, I want to use a “dragonflight” mount. Don’t make me choose CONSTANTLY! AND, I am dismounted when I want to change my mount’s flying style, adding wasted time. Hmm. Wasted time = more game time. But that also takes away game enjoyment!
Essentially, you’ve only added clicks and 5 or more seconds to the time it takes to mount ANYTHING.
Same here.
It is a terrible idea and it is done as a major friction point to discourage those that like to use both.
Of all the things GENUINELY wrong with this new expansion… You people are making a big deal about a 5 second button you can potentially hit once and forget about the rest of the game?
I absolutely LOATHE the new toggle method for flying. Nothing was wrong with having separate mounts for flight styles. More on druids than other classes but what a massive downgrade in convenience. Blizzard’s theme so far for TWW seems to be increasing difficulty and tedium across the board.
That is a good point that it heavily disrupts Druid class fantasy. Hopefully Druid class fantasy can be restored to full.
Blizzard made us jump through quest hoops in order to be able to use our old style mounts to fly in Dragonflight. Now they’re adding more hoops - “choosing a flight style” in order to use EITHER METHOD!
And another patchfinder for TWW.
Cross your fingers that none of the quest chains are bugged…lol.
Hate this change, why do I need an artificial 5s cast to switch types. The only thing I can think is they want to do away with static flying and they are creating a hurdle to try to get people to stop using it.
My character doesn’t have the toggle switch… is there a quest line I have to do?
Yea I loved Skykriding on a druid, and then popping into druid form if I ran out of Vigor to just insta-fly and get where I was going. Now with “flight styles” I am not able to do that.
It’s right there on the mount tab, under “Skyriding”
Woops meant to be a edit, sry for the double post lol.
I agree, I liked it that way it was before, if I wanted to use dragonriding I mounted the appropriate mount. If I wanted to ride normal flying, I mounted a flying mouint. Now this “switch” ability…not good.
Just what we needed. Another thread about a complete non issue. Wake up and get with the idea that Skyriding is the way the game is played now. No other dev would have been nice enough to leave in a system they replaced at all just to appease some whiners, be grateful Blizz did.
Only. For. Prepatch.
Once TWW drops it’s either Skyriding or walking. You will have to complete Pathfinder to be able to use Steady Flight. Dumb, dumb, heartless, and dumb.
It’s a piece of cake, I’ve been swapping today with ease, depending on what I want to do.
Druid flight form is still instant and fun to zip across the sky. I like the disc too.
