Switching Covenants, but what about the rewards?

So blizz and their hard-on for arms has me switching covenants now. I was content with the night fae Fury Warrior because I like the aesthetics of it all and I like the zone however I’m going to have to switch I’m going to be a competitive Warrior it seems. I’ve been a fury Warrior for a long time but even then I’ll have to go to Arms - I’m not sure what the deal is with these guys anymore.

Aside from that I’m going to hit renown 40 with night fae on reset tomorrow, is there any point or should I just switch to venthyr tonight?

And please don’t troll me and say I should have chosen venthyr off the bat, before SL came out blizzard made it clear covenants were an aesthetic decision and that there was no wrong decision. I should have known better than to trust them but here I am

I want to switch to Necrolord but would like to keep the Winter’s Envoy title (I feel like I earned it), so I’m curious about this too. I don’t care about the mogs, I just want the title.

there has been information in virtually every player guide out there since long before SL dropped regarding which Covenant powers would be most optimal for what classes.

Not reading up on your character, yet somehow expecting to be competitive, is like trying to take a driving test without ever studying and practicing.

The regrind isn’t that bad. You’ll be back to full power sooner than you think.

Stop with that, go watch interviews, go read a bit and you’ll see nothing came from blizz. I don’t care what your third party add-ons and simulations say - covenants were supposed to be for fun. Take your elitist bs elsewhere

With your attitude to the game covenants are strictly appearances choice. You’ll be fine

Did you read the post? They acknowledge that they aren’t hardcore and merely want to know if they keep the cosmetics earned in the covenant, like the title, or retain the ability to purchase them, if they switch.

They don’t need to ffs

Ok, but if they do…do they retain what they earned. Seems a fair question.

Do I keep covenant at specific items if I leave the covenant?

You keep what you earned, but cannot use it unless rejoin that covenant.

I think items and title were mentioned.

Where can I find this?

This is correct, cant use the items anymore that you earned. Which to me is extremely weird. All that work and you cant use transmog anymore lol.

Correct. So mounts, cosmetics, Titles etc, you will temporarily lose, unless rejoin that covenant.

E.I. Why people want to grind all 4 covenants on one character, boggles my mind!

Buuut you want to “be a competitive warrior”. These ideas are in direct conflict. Either you want to be competitive and you therefore read up on everything BiS, or you don’t read and take wild stabs at whats best for your class.

Says the guy wanting to be competitive. Amazing how the player base has gotten so trash that its apparently “elitist bs” to keep up with class info. Smh

Also one of the main reasons why I dont want to switch. Do not wanna start from scratch all over again. Pretty much gonna stick with what I picked for this expac lol.

What about covenant armor sets, not the transmog but the gear. If i switch covens does the gear just change?

No the gear doesnt change. Cant use it anymore. You start from scratch on getting the set all over again. It just takes up space in your bag/bank

I know it’s easy to go through being smart over the Internet, especially in WoW when you can link an achievement and think you’re a cool little boy.

  1. I just asked a question you can settle down if you have nothing productive to say

  2. I didn’t say I don’t want to be competitive, I’m not M+ raiding so really your simulations don’t mean much. My issue, if you can call it that, is that the exploiter legendary change and 36% buff to venthyr damage is too much to ignore . If you’re a warrior you’re not left with much choice. Unless you’re prot then you’ll be required to be necro so you can buff the dps

Hm so are you swapping for pvp reasons? If so you will prob be better off as arms, yeah, but that’s not really a new thing. I do wish fury were equally as viable as arms but oh well. Can’t compete w/ that MS effect.

You might wanna wait a week or so just to see if they end up nerfing either condemn or exploiter because as it is, they are going to be bordering on OP with the changes that are coming. The fact that every warrior I saw (granted I def did not watch all the games) in the AWC cup this weekend is already venthyr makes me think that Blizz may bring them in line with the other covenants kinda fast, but who knows.

That being said- if you decide you wanna make the switch immediately it doesn’t really matter if you do it today or tomorrow. Just be aware that your reservoir anima will not swap over so if you have any you should try to spend it if you can prior to swapping.
