Unsure what the issue is, but recently switched to Verizon FioS modem/router and now having significant lag when connecting to WoW. Sometimes I won’t be able to connect to a server and be kicked back to the log in screen. Other times I’ll be sitting in the game with 400+ MS.
Your ISP could be throttling your connection. Buy your own gateway/modem. Avoid modems that have wifi / bluetooth connections when possible. Change the gateways password. Make sure that you’ve login to your gateway. Avoid hubs or multiple linked devices. Make sure you’re using the correct bi-directional RJ45 lanline cable. When you’re online, open your task manage to see what’s loading and close .ExE or apps that can be closed.
Pastebin is down right now, but you want to collect a WinMTR or PingPlotter, not a traceroute (if that’s what you posted). A traceroute isn’t going to tell us anything about a connection over time.
There is heavy lag and packet loss on all the early nodes of the network, before the connection begins the route to the Blizzard server. You sent 737 packets to the router from your computer and only 551 made it to the 3rd hop. Unfortunately, you’ll have to work this out with Verizon.
