I am interested in the knowledge of fellow warriors who are sweeping strikes-cleave enjoyers like me. Especially those who play or have played vanilla.
So sweeping strikes and Cleave work together and Cleave takes 2 charges from Sweeping Strikes, but at some point it used to only take 1. Can anyone tell me when this changed? I would have sworn it took 1 charge in vanilla and I even remember levelling with it in classic-vanilla wow, then i came back to the game to play wotlk with my brother and was hugely surprised and disappointed when it took 2 charges. Now i am playing on a classic-vanilla server and its 2 charges, but it definitely should be 1 charge in vanilla?
Is there some interaction with blizzard using wotlk client or 1.13+ patches that it now uses 2 charges even in vanilla? am i remembering wrong?
I have been looking through patch notes and i cant find any that say when it changed to take more charges. All i have is my memory of vanilla, of playing classic wow a couple years ago, and some blog posts from 2006-2007 that talk about it (hilberts hall)
I can’t advise you on warriors but there are differences on Era from Classic on my Druid. You don’t have to manually shift forms before interacting with NPCs it does an automatic shift when you interact. Likely changes to other classes as well.

We aren’t asking for changes. We are discussing how some class mechanics changed unintentionally. Please reread.
As far as I’m aware, each instance of “Hit” consumes 1 charge. Be it from cleave, ww, hs, or ms.
they were meant to be this way. go to retail if u want changes
Actually no they weren’t. The changes bled over during an update that also broke all the original Classic addons. I’m not concerned whether or not you believe it either.
As far as Era is concerned, there will be no changes. Changes are for seasonal.
Whatever makes you feel better…
Thats not how it worked in vanilla for a long time. it MIGHT have been changed in patch 1.12 but im not sure, i cant see that in the patch notes. Cleave used to count as 1 attack. Whirlwind had a cap for how it could work with cleave and only granted 1 extra attack regardless, not sure when that changed either but there are vanilla patch notes describing ww only intending to give giving 1 extra attack.
