Why is this item still in game?
It’s sole purpose is to grief other players of the same faction. I’ve noticed it being used a lot more frequently in LFR groups since so many of the environments have been designed with pits of death. I’m getting tired of this item being used on people before bosses and then having to wait for that person to run all the way back before the encounter can begin.
The Neural Silencer item can counter this effect, but it is clearly malicious design that this item only has a chance to be contained in a gift package from a Blingtron 5000. It is possible to sell this item on the auction house, but the stock is very limited on some servers. For many new players, they likely have no idea what caused them to teleport to their death, and the existence of this item is likely just as unknown to them. Even veteran players shouldn’t have to go out of their way to obtain these items just to protect themselves from players of their own faction.

Not only is this not a real problem to be complaining about, but I’ve never even heard of it. I think you’ll live without them removing yet another thing from the game.

I’m not gonna say this doesn’t happen, but I play a LOT of LFR on a handful of toons and have yet to experience or witness this.

A Priest is actually the reason I even bought a Swapblaster in the first place. A friend was very good at Lifegripping us off edges. He’s a little less inclined to do that now that we retaliate, but it’s all in good fun. Sometimes I get him right after he gets someone else for the double combo.

Swapblaster is fun. I’ve used it to troll friends and have been victim to it as well. I also think priest’s life grip should be castable while moving again.
We need more items that shake up the monotony between pulls.

with a lil fun you get players to smile and laugh and the whole group will do better
path of frost was a fun for a bit till players started to dive before they whit the water
So what I am getting from the feedback from this thread is that WoW players want more toxic game design?
You get whatever you choose to take from it.
What I take from this is that the people in this thread just don’t think it’s a major issue like you do.
No one here has said “Toxicity is fun and I love it”
People can use an item like that to troll, sure, but it’s also there for fun.
Maybe a solution would be to make a recipe for craftable Neural Silencer so it is not as rare.

I personally think it would be much better if you could just buy it from a vendor.
Sounds like you just want things your way and don’t care how it affects other players. But sure, let’s call it toxic.

This is the average thought process of someone who uses the Swapblaster to grief players they don’t know.
I thought they made this unusable in lfr and other group finder content after the anniversary molten core raid swapblaster abuse. It working in raids again is likely not intended, you should report this oversight.
You are only supposed to be able to swap blast in player made groups…
It is definitely being used in LFR groups. I will need to look up the change you are talking about.
