I want to know what happened. They closed and delisted the thread with no explanation.

If you’re talking about the guy who claimed he had 200g worth of stuff on his bank alt and died in Orgrimmar by another player bringing in the disease … he said he spoke with the guild who the individual who did the disease and they confirmed the person had been banned.
Not sure why they’d close the thread, but seems Blizz dropped the hammer fairly quick on the person who did it.
Dude said he got no response from Blizz in his toon being reinstated though.

There’s a video on Reddit if another guy who killed two people dueling with it. I hope they put in a fix for it. Seems like all they need to do is make it so dismissing your pet purges any effects on them.
This is what I was more concerned about.
The thread being closed made me a little suspicious and OP getting that character restored would set a bad precedent.

I flagged the OP.
He mentioned the person doing it whose name is a blatant promo for a YouTube channel that specializes in Exploits and teaching people how to do them, I suspect the OP was either the YouTuber or earning profits from advertising it under the guise of a “bug”.

I know nothing about the previous thread, but it warms my heart to see that old gem of a grief put in an appearance. It happened back then, not thinking it would happen when it can really mess up people’s day? What was Blizzard thinking?

Yeah. That grief has been known about for over 15 years and never changed. It has remained relatively obscure until now.
Hopefully they can fix the grief issues, because their current stance on how to handle these incidents is pretty good. Their philosophy of “Damn bro sucks that you got griefed. We aren’t gonna help you, but we banned the griefer.” works great as long as griefs remain obscure, and few and far between.

the person was apparently a known griefer yt or steamer on the name they used. blizz edited name out bc they edited my comment of the name lol. it was some yt name and it was name shame here and/or and kinda a self promo too.
meh prolly didn’t wanna generate more talk since it was taken care of either way so they shut 'er down.
So people don’t learn how to grief in such a way. Sure, the information’s out there, but why help it spread?

I guess by deleting the thread, Blizz is implementing a way to curb the infection?
