… a half drunk guy smoking a cigar haphazardly dumping gunpowder into homemade bombs and chucking them at anything that moves.
SV Main here, just some thoughts after reading DoolB’s review of the hero tree
https://www.wowhead.com/news/survival-hunter-review-of-sentinel-hero-talents-visually-stunning-but-passive-339226
I would love to see this lore carry over into SV. Imagine our bombs were instead explosions of arcane energy. Our mongoose bite is transformed and harnesses the power of the moon. Imagine our mastery was actually useful and increased our arcane damage. Imagine we were trained by one of the Sentinels of the Kaldorei army…
Would be awesome.
I suspect the easier fix may just be to have a glaive-throw alternative to WFB on Survival itself.
Plenty of Pack Leader players aren’t going to dig the idea of lobbing explosives over just using more mundane, direct, and/or bleed-focused weapons, either.
It doesn’t take much to imagine. You’d just need to siphon AoE damage from some non-spender sources into Carve/Butchery damage as to make Focus-spenders as large a part of AoE damage as ST damage, and to buff its % effect per stat point. Done.
It would then be a plenty viable stat, just with a focus on all but the (direct) damage of FS, WFB, KC, and FotE (their other perks would still be somewhat important to it).
When the IMMEDIATE CONCERNS chapter is larger than the Review chapter.

And although your ideas sound cool, Arcane bombs etc, it continues to walk down the very narrow path of Night Elf Archers. That’s not what I want. Not at all.
We have one Hero Talent that is for Night Elves.
One that is for Undead (and maybe Blood Elves)
And one that virtually has no identity.
Biggest problem imo… Feels like the advertisement tagline for pack leader would be “As a Hunter, you have pets. But now with new and improved Pack Leader, you still just have pets”
Edit: and as far as Dark Ranger… I literally race changed to undead out of excitement before realizing SV can’t be dark ranger. RIP Black arrow.
