Survival vote?

Speaking of rogues, glad we arent Outlaw, amirite? I mean… a lot of hunters hate current SV, but ALL rogues hate current rtb Outlaw.

Hunters, as a Class, had several? well, at least 2 basic things in common.
Hunters had pets. Hunters could bond with wild animals, which would help the Hunter with their fights, contributing to their DPS.
Hunters themselves, did ranged DPS.
All 3 specs were doing ranged DPS, after their own fashion, each unique, but I agree, RSV and MM had more in common than either had with BM. Their similarities, however, were nowhere near enough that a decent player would/could conclude they played the same.
I don’t disagree with your post, except for the last line.
To accomplish their goal, they disenfranchised the Hunter Class. Sure, it’s their game, they can change it, but who expects to have their entire spec deleted? Generally, we trust that kind of thing wont happen.

Np, I don’t blame you. I am far too lazy to prove your argument for you, and you do know, until you do, you just blowing hot air.
Seriously, a video of devs, agreeing with you?

I always thought the fact that they took something popular and turned it into something unpopular was damning enough (on the face of it). I probably wouldn’t mind it as much if it functioned with the pet in a similar way to, say, an Unholy Dk … if they replaced Kill Command (as a generator) with something else. Also, you can’t attack through the main defensive, which seems ludicrous for a melee toon. Anyway…

I see you still have no fundamental understanding on how the game works

Melee is balanced differently than Ranged. Otherwise, no one would ever play melee.

Jesus christ… This is a cringefest beyond advanced levels of cringe

You said that hunters got Black Arrow through a vendor. I say, if that’s true, then is it really that much of a stretch to assume that hunters also get other forms of exotic ammo through a vendor as well?

What have I twisted or oversimplified?

Your vendor theory cuts both ways. It replaces the investment of time and effort with gold. How can you show a character’s power progression with that in mind?

Your harpoon is basically a grappling hook that sticks to enemies instead of ledges. It’s anchored to you, not a ship.

It takes a special level of dumb to reach the level you’ve gotten to. The point, which you seemed to somehow miss even though it was dumbed down enough for a toddler to follow, is that the devs stated (on video) when they were changing SV from ranged to melee was that one of the reasons for them doing so was that MM and SV were too similar.

I pointed out this similarity in the thread, to which you immediately said I was wrong about. I highlighted that my stance was supported by the devs *** who specifically said it was one of the reasons they were making the change***.

Now you can continue being lazy and claiming ignorance, but it just makes you continue to look foolish. If the devs didn’t actually say this, and there wasn’t proof, Bepples and Ghorak would literally be spazzing out because they couldn’t respond fast enough. In fact, Bepples even addressed it in this very post.

By him claiming the devs made a bad decision, it means they made the decision based on what I said. Try to keep up.

Just to be clear -
Volley for MM is not hard capped.
Beast Cleave for BM is not hard capped.

Well, we’ll see about that. No one knows what the next xpac holds, despite your acclaimed omniscience.

American Whalers (and inuits) hunted whales with harpoons from small boats. And while this is just a fantasy, it is one that has long existed, for a hunter to pull themselves via hook or spear into battle with a great behemoth.

As the book of Job says, “Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, you will not do it again.” The idea of close combat with a massive beast is not a warrior fantasy. It is a hunter fantasy, and one entrenched in the human psyche.

What on earth is the book of job? lmaoo

Go figure, Enkidu shows us the way.

All Hunters also had tracking, though the Legion class hall quest made no use of that.

Personally I’d prefer it if they changed Harpoon into a targeted leap attack that delivered a critical strike making use of the spear being a precision weapon.

Yea, I’m absolutely not clicking that very shady looking link.
But if this book of job thing is from the bible, that would explain why I’ve never heard of it.

So while I was at work, apparently you guys started referencing the Bible in a Hunter thread. That’s random! :joy:

But yes, the book of Job is from the Bible. Specifically, it’s from the Old Testament. Neat fact about Job — it’s the first book written in the Bible! AKA the oldest book in the Bible.

While the Jews were slaves in Egypt, literally all they had was the book of Job. It was their only existing “scriptures” at the time.

In case you couldn’t tell, I’m a bit of a history buff, especially when it comes to the Bible. The history behind the writing of the Bible is legitimately super fascinating.

History lesson time is over though!

Back to the topic of WoW and game design… I’ve never been a big fan of letting other games influence WoW’s game design, nor “real life history.”

I prefer it when WoW keeps itself unique, and separate from other games. In other words, I do NOT like it — let alone want — when WoW’s Hunter design is influenced by DnD’s Ranger or whatever.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Probably.

You want other games to affect WoW’s design? May I ask why?

Well… for my personal opinion there’s alot of better decisions that other games/media have made since WoW’s launch that Blizzard could/should incorporate in the game that would make it better. And let’s be honest. Some of Blizzard’s best work is when they take some else’s idea and improve on it.

I mean, yeah. But its more of like, I have unpopular opinions. Dont be small brain please. I expect more from you.
