Gathering Raw Meat from Spinetusk Piglet or Wood from Dying Tree leaves the quest requirements at “0/1 Raw Meat” and “0/1” Wood and does not allow for the character to click on Campire to start a fire and cook the meat. The material is added to the inventory but cannot be used. This makes the quest impossible to finish which prevents completion of the Hunter Class Hall Campaign.
Facing the same issue
Same here.
Same.
(I logged in and out, left the zone and returned, abandoned 3 times, even lit my own cookfire–the wood and meat don’t register in quest log and Rexxar’s fire doesn’t ignite, except for the first time I abandoned the quest, and then the fire went out when I ran to get meat and wood.)
Yep. Happening to me as well. Different hunter than this one. Submitted ticket, got auto response, awaiting further info from Blizz.
Exactly the same as what is happening to OP. Did all the steps I normally take i.e. relog, no mods, reset ui, ran a quick repair…nothing works. Abandoned the quest a dozen times trying to get this to progress. Zip so far.
I have the same problem. Even submitting a ticket did no good. The GM who contacted me directed me to a wowhead post saying the steps have to be completed in a specific order, completely ignoring the fact I said the game is not recognizing the wood or raw meat I collected. I have done this several times on different hunters with no issue so the issue is a new one.
Same issue.
Adding to the conversation - same - max level hunter, finally doing legion quests, I have wood and a piece of meat in my bags, but it doesn’t register as I can’t click on the cooking fire to get it going.
It seems the quest has been fixed! I was able to complete other bugged Legion quests so I abandoned and tried again and it finally worked!!
I abandoned and tried again and it still is glitched for me. I’m just going to send another bug report and hope
So this is the response I got from a blizzard GM. Either they are not comprehending what I am saying or they are too lazy to try and do the quest to see that it is broken. Such a shame because legion is a great xpac to play through. Oh, the real kicker is I sent the link to this very thread.
I’ve taken a look and we haven’t been receiving reports regarding this, which means it is most likely working as intended or has been caused by a recent update.
Taking this in consideration, we don’t have any workarounds at the moment nor can we provide any compensation regarding this since it is not a verified issue yet.
Still, since there is a chance for this to be a recent bug, please report it in-game since it’s the best way for it reach our developer team. Here’s a guide on how to do it depending on which version of the game you’re playing:
Also, in order for this to get more public visibility, please report it through the forums here:
Submissions posted there have the benefit of allowing a community discussion around high-impact bugs, which helps prioritizing them.
Our developers are always working as fast as possible to fix the latest bugs, so please expect this to be working as intended after one of the upcoming hotfixes.
If you need help with something else or if you have any other question, please let me know, I’m here to help.
I am having the exact same issue. The most recent patch seems to have messed with what I will term “quest instancing”, how quests interact with your personal instances around the world. This can be seen in the new dragon daycare quests causing one of the main Dragonflight campaign quests to not appear (though it shows on your map).
I don’t remember the name of that quest specifically but you control a red dragon whelp and shoot fireballs at plants and bugs in the Ruby Life Pools.
TLDR; Patched screwed up quests across a bunch of different regions and Blizzard has a bigger problem they need to look into. Sadly this particular quest seems to be DOA for a lot of people until they do.
The one in Ruby Life pools worked fine for me yesterday. The Survival Skills quest did not.
Success! Tried it again today and everything worked like it’s supposed to work. Completed “Survival Skills” and followup “Survive the Night” where you cook and eat a couple of steaks on a timer. I did everything exactly the same as I’ve been doing it so Blizz must’ve put in a fix of some kind.
Don’t lose heart!! Help is (probably) on the way!!
Quick follow up, it worked for me today but I still dont know what caused the issue to begin with. I did notice that one thing different was there wasn’t a World Quest anywhere near Rexxar’s position this time where before, when I had problems there was…cant remember name, something about Witches. Not saying that’s the issue but with no world quest near, it worked fine in my case.
I retried it again today after a few days and it is still not working for me sadly. I completed the world quests near it to see if that effected it but no change. Hope the update tomorrow fixes it for me!
