Survival Hunter

you take survival at 10…requires 2H weapon…
but you don’t get a 2h weapon attack until 13…
so you limp around with autoattack for 3 levels…
i mean who comes up with these absurdly
irrational ideas!
sure it’s a small thing…but it’s a blatant design flaw…
blatant!
and one of ten thousand little things that add up
to a negative gaming experience and make
you hate the game.

You have kill shot right away. And at 11 you get kill command. Pet is also part of the survival game, not just two-handers.

Even survival hunters can use ranged weapons and have access to some range weapon skills. I suggest you shoot for those levels.

why would a survival hunter want to use a bow or a gun…lol.
let me make this simple for you…
survival hunter first skill at 10 should be…raptor strike.
arms warrior…mortal strike.
marksman hunter…aimed shot.
catching on?
their approach makes less-than zero sense.

Just one reason why I’ve hated the fact that they changed survival from ranged to melee. It’s been dead to me since the end of WoD

Survival is wonky at low levels, but at max it plays well, I am one.

Also, take Steady Shot off your bars once you get a melee weapon. Lol.

It’s like how every Shaman has Primal Strike, even the Elemental and Resto Shamans.

It’s a useless ability, only really used when you are like below level 10.

the primary/distinguishing function of survival is
a 2h melee weapon.
stop defending their poor development…
there’s absolutely no reason under the sun
to deny survival immediate access to raptor strike
at L10.

What’s really irrational is as a Hunter you decide at level 10 that instead of staying in the safety of range you would rather be in in your enemy’s face. You also decide that it’s a great distance to throw explosives from.

I do think it would make more sense for it to be baseline. Especially with mongoose bite also being a talent that just replaces it a few levels later. I was just refuting what you said about only having auto attack until level 13.

It is very funny that this is the playstyle they’ve attached to a spec called “Survival”.

It is extremely fun now though. Gotta give them credit for a fantastic redesign.

Pretty much every melee class is flailing white DMG with a single attack for the first 15 levels.

it’s primary melee attack should be there
at L10, when you opt into survival…
Just as Arms Warrior should have Mortal Strike
at L10…
Relying on melee auto-attack as a Survival Hunter/
a Melee spec is absolutely foolish.
they should fix this…they appear foolish.
