So survival hunter can dual now on live but I haven’t seen anything on it. Given that attacks scale off attack power conversions, doesn’t this do the same damage as a two hand weapon?
EDIT: It appears our skills specifically require a two hand weapon.
Personally I like using a two hand weapon but they should remove this requirement as it would deal nearly equal DPS.
This seems like a small change that would make a lot of Rexxar lovers happy.

All blizz needs to do is make it a cosmetic option. Since they already effed up the spec as bad as they did. I dont trust em to put this into place properly at all.

I looked through the hunter spell book and don’t see dual wield, you sure can?
Can you dual wield? Yes.
Should you? No. Your abilities require the 2H weapon.
It’s a leftover from previous expansions. I’m honestly surprised it wasn’t removed over the years.

they should in fact make dual wield possible via making the skills work with them. Nothing wrong with it and if it’s already there they might as well.

Why would it be? Literrally ever other class that can dual wield or use a 2 handed weapon has a spec that can utilize it, WW/BM monks and frost dks can all choose. Why can’t sv hunters?

I mean I’m all for DW Surv, I’m just shocked Blizz didn’t remove the dual wield ability since none of the specs have been able to use it in a few years.
Unless I am mistaken, but Shaman have never lost the ability to wield 2 hand axes or maces, but none of the weapon abilities are useable with 2hand for enhance. Technically Primal Strike worked, but I think the ability goes away when you choose a spec now.
Hunters and Shaman are two classes that have leftover ability to wield specific weapons that dont have builds that work with them.

Only mongoose bite and kill shot have the wording for requiring a two hand melee weapon. Changing it to, “Requires a melee weapon” wouldn’t be hard. And it would let some people dual wield if they want to. Theres nothing in the survival kit that would deal anything outside of fractions of a percent less DPS from wielding either.
Personally I like two-handed weapons, but it doesn’t hurt anyone at all to just add it if not for cosmetics/more drop rolls…
Oh god we’d be coming for everyones weapons again and it wouldn’t be a meme anymore.

the bm hunters are the ones who don’t know how to play survival or MM, bm caters to a more slowing thinking rotation hence it has no real burst lmao

I was more referring to Rexxar’s literally being a Beastmaster in WC3(FT), to the same clarity that Arthas was a Paladin → Death Knight, etc. Even in WoW, his sub-title was formerly that.
Still wish I could have 2 swords along with the bow like we used to have, the fantasy of being a hunter was cool back then, double tap removed now so kinda losing all hope for this class

I have beeen advoctingbfor dual weild to come back since bfa. I posted about it aggressively on the ptr as a bug and it didn’t get fixed.
The problem is all the survival melee attack only have 2 hand attqck animations and they cant flip a switch to fix it. I would like a comment from blizz so we know if it will ever happen.

Where I agree with you on changing it, I have a problem with saying requires a melee weapon. I think hunters should be able to dual wield melee weapons but I recently tried to equip a shield on my fury warrior to try out a fun build. I had a two- handed sword in one hand and a shield in off hand. But all of my abilities except for execute and bloodthirst are unable to be used and gives me the error “Requires a melee weapon”. So is a two handed sword not a melee weapon? They just need to fix their game and allow classes that have the ability to make those builds to have a bit more fun instead of pidgeon holing everyone into one specific build.

easy fix RIP the requires 2H Melee Weapon out of all the ability coding less bloat. Then have the numerical formula dmg calculation reworked for (Main Hand + (Off Hand)) weapons for all the abilities instead of 2H Main hand weapon dmg * vers yada yada
