they just need bring back arcane shot to synergize with wildfire bomb give wildfire bomb a 40% buff to to main target and like a 20% buff to all other targets maybe Arcane shot can cause reset chances or help reduce CD like Lung will in 10.1. and turn aspect of the eagle into a 15 sec cleave for raptor and mongoose bite
Kill “shot” should be a spear throw animation imo like harpoon minus the chain and leap of course. The animation already exists.
Would be nice for serpent sting and aspect of the eagle too. Instead of the awkward mini crossbow and questionable ghost eagle it would be cool to hurl spears during the buff.
Survival is supposed to be the spear hunter so let us throw spears. Warriors throw their swords and maces so it’s far from a stretch.
So you see something powerful and integral in Kill Shot, then note an arbitrary lock-out that has no reason to exist on another two abilities that —rather distinctly from Kill Shot— are at least largely redundant and therefore pose no real advantage (given Aspect of the Eagle) even if those lock-outs were removed…
…and your brilliant idea is to… add yet another skill unnecessarily to those lock-outs, crippling SV damage and the whole point of three of its talents in the process, or else to remove the traditional Hunter advantage (high relative uptime compared to one’s sub-role) from SV by making its Kill Shot melee only?
Say-wut, mate?
In short, no. Hell no. Simply allow SV to use Arcane Shot and Steady Shot, too, from the hand-crossbow. That’s all. There is zero need to neuter Kill Shot.
Regaining access to those two skills be largely useless outside of leveling and poking plate-wearers while kiting, but that’s perfectly fine. Arbitrary, nonsensical lockouts, on the other hand, are not fine.
they do already have that I was just thinking It might be neat if blizzard made a different spell for Survival then again this game is getting so complex my mind looses track of updates to all the other stuff…
every single aspect about melee survival breaks every rule based within immersion, fantasy and common sense. melee survival, more like melee forager. blizzard really got to get their act together. it failed. even after multiple changes and small revamps, it is still a failure.
survival hunter hit its peak and made it to its final form around end of mop. then during wod they added multi strike and munitions. no bad but still. then at end of wod they deleted the most perfect spec they have ever created for this current abomination that is melee survival.
they need to make up their mind. if the players had their way, survival would of been ranged the moment it was changed to melee. but that was not the case. if survival is going to stay melee then it needs to do away with all ranged abilities and stop trying to steal bm and mm identity. when it was ranged it had its own identity and rotation. now they dont even use a ranged weapon but yet they are shooting ranged abilities. what a joke.
i dunno who is in charge of this mess that is melee survival over at blizzard, but we definitely need a clean up on that aisle.
Let’s be clear: ranged SV in MoP wasn’t a perfect spec. It was very good for its time because it did a lot with little; it didn’t have a complex gameplay loop and a multi-layered set of interactions, but few specs did back then and it still made for an engaging experience with what it had.
Yes, it could have had more complexity. Yes , it could have been more distinguished from other Hunter specs.
That doesn’t mean making it melee was a good idea. Notice how when melee SV fans talk about the change they list the issues they had with ranged SV (which are usually copy-pasted from Blizzard posts without any actual input from experience) and then assert making it melee as the obvious and most effective catch-all solution. In fact it’s possibly the worst solution they could have picked for the spec short of making it a tank or something. The problems afflicting SV since becoming melee are more numerous and severe than ranged SV. It’s not even comparable. We have a worse situation now than we had back then. People will deny that and rewrite history but you didn’t get near-daily “please save SV” threads back then like you do now, and you didn’t have a discord with about a dozen SV diehards 24/7 moping about how their spec sucks yet fiercely opposing any sort of decisive action to correct it.
what kind of delusion is this? it has its own identity right now in live and if you don’t see that you’re just making a willful decision to ignore it so you can be angry
