Surv Hunters Moving Forward?

If they wanted to make it a hybrid spec, I think the addition of a ranged slot like several classes had back in the day is necessary. from what I’m hearing, you have to constantly switch weapons? Isn’t that detrimental to gameplay? Not to mention clunky?

No, just stick with your melee weapon, and right now they have that gimpy xbow for survival, but make it be able to be glyphed for the shots to a weapon of your choosing. Or like shapeshifting forms, maybe we can xmog our preferred ranged weapon for animation purposes.

I can assure you that people who want ranged Survival would not be satisfied by this. Any melee requirement is a dealbreaker.

Besides, it makes no thematic sense whatsoever. Why would a spec with poisoned and explosive ammunition be suddenly running in to whack the target with attacks more fitting of a Warrior?

I figured you wouldn’t be happy with it due to melee in any existence in it.

Explosive ammunition doesn’t have to be dynamite in its explosiveness. It just has to be fire damage.

It’s more about the hybrid gameplay. Survival already has poisoned shots. I think thematic sense is completely out the window with a measured marksman doing rapid fire. At this point, anything is fair game.

It’s not about the explosives, although that does indeed further undermine the melee combat. It’s about the spec having a clear ranged focus only to arbitrarily, intermittently abandon it in favour of being a Warrior rip-off. This is already a problem with the current spec and it would only be worse with your idea.

No, the existence of Rapid Fire does not justify this. It makes sense for a skilled Marksman to be able to put out bursts of high rate of fire.

A cool hybrid mechanic would be making the KC like the flanking strike, but it also makes you charge/jump to the target’s position.

I think it would be kinda overpowered to have our Focus generator also work as a Charge. If I am honest.

I am of the opinion we should get Legion’s Flanking Strike back to replace Kill Command but I think the most direly needed update for Kill Command instead would be to make the 2 stacks of Kill Command baseline instead of a talent.
