Surrender to Madness Returning

STM was awesome in legion. Best way to cheese the mage tower fight

They have a dream that shadow priests are a weird void Cthulhu spec and they’re trying to make it work, even though it doesn’t either in terms of gameplay or within the priest class fantasy.

It’s in BfA?

Trouble is… only 5% of those playing use the forums.

I like Void Form and Insanity 1000000% Better than Shadow Orbs.

They can’t exactly remove any form of resource because then Shadow Priests are just Affliction Warlocks. That’s why Insanity was added.

Void Form inherently isn’t bad, but they’re going about it wrong. Instead of increasing haste, it should amplify existing abilities. Like you create triple the amount of Shadow Word: Pain ghosts, Mind Blast is instant cast, etc. Instead of Insanity being a resource while you’re in Void Form, it amplifies the spells for a set amount of time, thus turning Void Form into a Short Term Cooldown.

The way it is now just isn’t fun and in essence is a short term cooldown that has to be super micro managed.

it’s not literal. it’s einstein’s definition.

Sorry I meant to write *Einstein’s literal definition. It was late :stuck_out_tongue:

I may have misquoted, but voidform still sucks.

I like voidform…

StM - the talent you take when you don’t want to lose durability when you know the raid is gonna wipe.

I’ve given up. Priests are just never going to be my thing again.

I used to LOVE Discipline and Shadow back in the day, but after WoD I can’t stand either spec. I switched to a Paladin instead and I’m enjoying it.

Oh my word, yes!

They got rid of it because it was used to cheese boss mechanics, as I recall.

He didn’t burn out or fade away. He went out with a splat.

They just need to bring back vanilla mind flay animation, it looks badass! I used to main priest in vanilla and BC, I don’t play much priest anymore.

It was a good end in the movie, but the book was much less climactic.

The scene was about the same, but it was at the end of The Return Of The King, on the road near The Shire, where The Fellowship was escorting Frodo back to Bag End before his departure (I think).

They happened to cross paths with Saruman and Wormtongue who were near The Shire following a failed endeavor.

Rather than atop the tower of Isengard before the final battle at Mordor.

You mean the white-blue noodle that looks more like electricity than shadow?! No thanks.

Yes!that looked amazing, like you’re actually flaying someone’s mind. Now it’s just a boring purple line

Shadow Orbs were infinitely better than Voidform. That’s the one thing I loved about WoD’s iteration.

Shadow Orbs, using Devouring Plague and Auspicious Spirits. Or, Clarity of Power. Both different, both viable.

Void Form is a nifty concept but unfortunately, it was designed entirely around the Legion artifact propping it up with all of those traits. And now in BFA it is only being held together with traits like Chorus of Insanity and Whispers of the Damned(Spiteful Apparitions as well).

Truth be told, outside of another major rework, which they said they aren’t planning. Change Shadow’s Mastery to be literally Chorus of Insanity. At least that somewhat alleviates some of the issue and it changes Shadow’s bland Mastery. Or, bake Chorus of Insanity into the Lingering Insanity talent. Even though both of those really need to be baseline to make Shadow work without the artifact and azerite traits.

Hell, make the Auspicious Spirits talent baseline and put the Whispers of the Damned trait in as a talent. I dunno, Shadow needs a ton of work though. Without Azerite traits, it’s dead on arrival in its current state. But unfortunately, I don’t see Blizzard doing what it needs to do to make it work. So Shadow will be dead until mid-late expansion when it has some legendary items to once again prop its flawed design up. Just like Artifact traits. And just like Azerite traits. That’s assuming anyone can even bring their self to put up with Shadow that long.

Shame too, cause my Shadow Priest is one of my favorite alts.

And on the topic of Surrender to Madness, the current iteration on Alpha will never be chosen. It’s laughably bad. Debuff? lmao.

If it has to come back at all, better for it to be too weak than too strong. People can just avoid it if it’s too weak. If it’s stronger than anything else on the row and the spec is tuned around that then it becomes the only way to play the spec, and people will start killing themselves. (In game. I hope.)
