Surprise! WoW Isn't Dead

Are you inferring that the forums can’t take any criticism?

As much as the game is in a pretty piss poor state, lying on federal mandated documents has serious reparations. As much as a lot of us have disdain for bobby, he ain’t stupid. so enough of the…

Nope not at all, just an odd way to spend your time. Hope one day you find something you enjoy doing that’s completely optional in every way.

Depends on what periods those documents are expected to be reporting on.

The devil lies in the details as they say.

You truly are hopeless and never have held a stock in your life.

I don’t like to gamble on those kinds of odds.

Unless they sugar coat it and say things like a drop in 2 mil users is actually an increase from their normal… with that normal being 8.3 after almost a year long content draught…
There are any number of ways to massage the numbers around and display them in ways that look good.

Do not forget… this is a PR event for shareholders, not them trying to share information with the playerbase.

Look at some of the phrases being thrown around

High in relation to what? Is it higher engagement than… the 8.3 content draught? higher engagement in November? Higher engagement in April? Is there a sharp downward trend in engagement with a mean average higher than the mean average from BFA? What exactly are the actual datapoints were dealing with here?

New players, or new accounts, or new characters being created. Is a player a trial account? Is a player someone who bought SL in November and stopped playing?
Is this an increase in players or just new players?
If you have 4 million players, and 2 million of them leave, but you picked up 100k new players, then there is certainly an increase in new players even though your playerbase is much smaller.

To put this another way… I have an empty cardboard box on my table that used to contain an apple pie we ate with lunch today. The box is a piece of garbage I’m going to take out to the recycle bin.

-MAU of box increased sharply with carrying out to rubbish bin! (I will interact with it and the kids will when they bring it to the curb… before it was just me opening it and cutting the pie… that’s a 100% MAU increase)

-Amount of apple pie in box increased this quarter! (even though it’s empty, the crumbs are more apple pie now then they were last month when the box was empty on a shelf somewhere awaiting assembly and use… thus the amount of pie is much higher now than before, because that’s the data I choose to use for the comparison)

This is kind of an extreme example, but…

Then what makes you think you are qualified to speak on these matters?

Exactly.

Without any details its hogwash.

Because scalper bots are buying them all up before anyone else can.

Because there’s a component shortage.

Imagine linking something that says they’ve lost people to go “gotcha”.

Cause I’ve gambled before and lost.

Wows been dead since 2002 when it was in alpha. I don’t even get why this is a debate!

:man_facepalming:

I’m done LOL

Not sure what you expected on these forums.

If they mean new characters being created when they said new players then they just committed a federal crime. So I highly doubt that.

And what you and your ilk are stating is less than hogwash.

Ok. Impasse.

Have a good day.

Because even some conversations are too daft, even for me to continue.

Woohoo! Bobby is getting a new third yacht yeah!!!
