Surge of Light Mana Nerf Devastates Holy in Arena

I really implore you to rethink this nerf and to exclude it from applying to PvP combat.

Holy has used Surge of Light as the cornerstone talent for its mana management gameplay going back for as long as the talent has existed, including when it was called From Darkness, Come Light.

This is a talent that has gone completely unchanged (for Holy) since MoP because of how well designed it is, now is not the time to suddenly be messing with it.

Fishing for, and banking up 1-2 charges of Surge of Light for moments of incoming burst on your teammates without overcapping procs has been an integral part of the gameplay of the spec along with using it to weather high dampening in the late stages of a match.

Flash Heal is extremely expensive (for good reason), Surge going from 100% to 50% SEVERELY hurts us in Arena and a 5% mana cost reduction on Flash Heal does not compensate for this while hurting our resource economy and forcing us in to trying to use Heal more which is frankly an unreasonable expectation in PvP in 2025 given how slow that spell is to cast.

Surge of Light has always helped to make Flash Heal a more dynamic healing spell. Lowering the mana cost of the base spell while removing our free procs only serves to dull our overall gameplay.

They should re-think all the mana nerfs entirely as they add nothing of value to the game in PvE or PvP.

Making mana worse for healers in PvE just means they have to stop and drink more, which is frustrating in a game where nobody else has to stop to recover for long after combat.

This is especially annoying since they just added a recuperate ability, but left mana out of it so you still have to queue for a follower dungeon and get your free mana biscuits to do the same thing.

I doubt they even considered PvP much in the change since they already obliterate all healers mana regen in PvP.

The only thing that sucks about having to drink in PvP is how much it massively advantages healers that can play Night Elf because for some insane reason going in to stealth doesn’t cancel eating and drinking.

As for Holy, nerfing Surge of Light in half massively hurts our mana in PvP on a spec famous for having mana issues for most of its lifespan and whose mana was so bad earlier this xpac that we were the only healer to ever consistently go oom in Shuffle while not being pressured before they buffed it.

Not to mention you can’t drink in Solo Shuffle.

Am I the only one thag feels like priest goes oom in pvp the most already? These mana nerfs make no sense to me
