Suramar's architecture

Was that the original Night Elf architecture from when Suramar existed back in WotA, or did they redesign? Because I just noticed that arcway that’s on the entrance to the city, and it looks sort of different from the architecture inside.

Well, the Highborne and the Night Elfs were from different sects in night elf culture and thus had different architecture designs.

Also, for example, there’s a lot of differences between the architectures of difference regions. Suramar had it’s design, while Azshara’s palace was very Different from both Suramar and Night Elf ruins you see around…

Of course, 10,000 years locked in a bubble, I imagine there’s been a few changes.

Suramar City architecture look identical to Zin Azshari aside from Suramar not being damaged while covered in Coral or Seaweed so the city has been unchanged for a long time…

Pretty sure there’s references in Legion about the Nightborne having “preserved their culture for thousands of years”

Don’t compare the zones in the game … the most of them are just outdated . Darkshore and Arathi look amazing … but the old ones  are just old

Well, the night elves had an empire that spanned most of the Kalimdor protocontinent. It wouldn’t be all that surprising if regional aesthetic differences arose in different population centers that were thousands of miles apart. While part of the same empire, places like Suramar, Zin-Azshari or Eldre’thalas were all geographically removed enough from one another to practically be separate kingdoms.

I think that generally speaking, Suramar is meant to be representative of ancient kaldorei architecture. In the updated Darkshore they replaced a bunch of the old ruins with new ones that more closely match the ruins in Azsuna. Zin-Azshari as well uses the same architecture as Suramar, just with dulled paint and barnacles everywhere.
