Lore wise it is top notch and the story of the nightborne is really interesting, but my god does it drag, add in the constant searching for ancient mana and “an illusion what are you hiding” at a certain point it just feels like work. Really wish it could have been addressed in the patch.
I mean it was an endgame daily zone. It was meant to be a grindy and chore like area.
im some how half way through revered with them but ive yet to do a single chapter in the quest line… i keep hearing horror stories.
I loved it. Probably one of the better stories they made in years. But I couldn’t stand the illusion mechanic. I was glad I did the whole meta on my Rogue so I could just stealth around.
If i wasn’t trying to unlock the Nightborne I would have probably just abandoned it halfway through
Absolutely great zone with very little replay ability for me.
Something’s not quite right …
I absolutely LOVED suramar city! Easily my favorite zone in the entire game. The setting and aesthetics were perfect but it was the constant sense of danger that I loved. Sneaking through and suddenly you’re uncovered and the whole place turns into a hornet’s nest. Loved it!
It was fun to stomp at 120 not caring if you got spotted or not. I don’t think I’d have enjoyed it long when it was current.
The mana crystal currency and time gating due to it was utterly annoying. Not being a class with stealth made the zone crappy as well.
It was a fun zone, with flying is so easy I don’t see the issue.
I think this is the best way to describe suramar ever.
I also have a love/hate relation with it.
The city is awesome, the questline is top notch and it is one of the best content ever.
But running in that thing is the worst and most frustrating thing ever. I never die so often in the same city.
I initially did the zone and all of its quests with a Fire Mage, and it was hard, because of constantly being detected within the city and having to fight wave after wave of tough NPCs. But the story’s ending was truly satisfying, and left me with a great impression of the Nightborne. It’s really too bad that Thalyssra joined the Horde, I would have loved to have them as an allied race on the Alliance side.
Once that first character completed the Broken Isles Pathfinder, it was much easier for subsequent toons: I max leveled a DH, Druid, Warlock, and DK, and just breezed through Legion and Suramar. I have yet to complete the Suramar quest lines with any of them, and will definitely return and do that, so I can experience its ending again - soon as I find some time, LOL. There’s so much to do still, as I’m trying to again level cap another toon before Shadowlands drops, this time a BM Hunter.
An absolute nightmare without flying, but a great and beautiful zone non the less.
I loved Suramar on live. It was a whole new zone with a beautiful storyline after you reached max level. I remember the opening questline being difficult on under-geared clothies. The zone storyline in conjunction with the Night Hold Raid made for what I thought was the best tier in Legion.
Personally, I loved the zone and was able to dodge the anti-stealth measures pretty well. I wish they would add more zones like it but the general public seems to like these “sandbox” zones more. or maybe it is just easier to create sandbox zones with little quest content and random elite pinatas everywhere.
Suramar is okay to me. I dont have a stealth Class. I played Suramar with a heavy Tank with me… my Pet as a BM Hunter. I had fun in there.
Suramar was my most visited area in Legion all becoz of Starlight Rose… Suramar is the only place where Starlight Rose grows. Later on Broken Shore opened and it has some Starlight Rose too. Where else would my Herbalist go?
