Suramar City

Fly high above it and look around…

Did Blizz ever have bigger plans for it? Such a beautiful city and it’s HUGE! I could be THE Hub for ALL of Azeroth!

It’s not going to get further use. It was a massive quest hub and that’s all it’ll be used for.

No more wine tastings. Wish the horde would just live there instead of boring, SMELLY Orgrimmar.

Literally one of the best, if not THE BEST, zone in wow history.

The campaign, the characters (I’ll save you one day Runas), the villains. It was perfect. Felt like the perfect use of those cool domes in we first saw in netherstorm

That they just left it behind feels so bad. I know they always leave things to gather dust but Suramar had so much work put into it I don’t know why any competent devs would just abandon it

The whole thing was a massive stealth mission quest area. It got a fair amount of use. And this was before flying was added to legion.

I miss it though. I spent actual hours exploring the safer parts of city and the outer areas of the zone when it first came out. It was one of the best endgame zones of all time.

Like the writing was even good, do you know how rare that is for WoW??

I agree 100%, and have been saying this for years. Suramar should have been the hub city ALL throughout Legion. I expected it to be so while levelling and was extremely let down when that wish unfulfilled. Unfortunately, this game has a long history of underutilized potential especially when it comes to city assets. I wish they would be doubled down on, because sprawling and interesting cities really can revitalize the world, provided there’s a good amount of hangout incentive and content around them.

I would like to see it used again at some point.

I disagree. That place was the bane of my existence in Legion. It’s the whole reason I made a DK so I could water walk since my poor warrior couldn’t find a path to leap to save his life

Idk if they abandon it…it may be revisited in the future, and now the groundwork is there if they do.

Right after they work on the unused Gilneas

It’s been almost a decade since legion was relevant its actually over

Thanks for reminding me. Ugh, time is flying

I didn’t like it all that much. I loved the invasion bit at the end but was soooooooooooooo short. The city was pretty nice though.

I was under the impression that it was huge 'cause it was for a raid, kind of how dazar’alor was huge 'cause it was used for the raid. But only parts were used in Suramar.

I do feel that there was more planned for Legion but might have been changed. But evergreen was never in the cards then. Anything planned would of been expansion specific.

I think it’d be cool to revisit these places and make it more relevant to breath some air into the game and put the WORLD back into WORLD OF WARCRAFT.

I was tired of working on the Nightborne AR unlock. I did that twice. Then you look at other allied races, and they were like do these 5 things…ok you good.

I agree, it most likely is over.

But we don’t know what the future holds.

Gorgeous city! But sadly Blizzard likes to leave things in ruins after the xpac is over. Azeroth is a ghost town.

I was just there last night running Nighthold for some mogs. It’s a shame that it’s not being used for anything currently. It’s such a beautiful and richly detailed city!

Right up there with Tazavesh, which I absolutely love. I spent hours after keys finished walking around and looking at everything. That city was sooooo neat. Vendors, NPCs everywhere. Nifty underground markets. It was absolutely more otherworldly and welcoming than the boring flight terminal of Oribos.

Makes me sad that Suramar is forever locked into the last phase of the story. Players who never did that campaign won’t get the full impact of the Nightborne joining the Legion, and I can’t bring my alts through the old “quiet” version of the city :frowning:

It was the jewel of Legion.
