Suppose player housing in wow worked like in real life

In that more highly desirable areas cost more money…

what zones do you think would be the ones that people would flock to, thus driving up the price of buying a house there?

My list (no particular order)
Eversong woods
Suramar
Valley of the four winds
Hallowfall
Strangelthorn Vale

All those options are horrendously out of the way. If its not in or around the major city hubs, Im going to be upset.

I was suggesting purely on aesthetics rather than convenience (as I have a sneaking suspicion, we’ll get some sort of portal with the house or a player ability to go to/from the house quickly, possibly being able to tie it to a major hub)

The biggest mistake they could make is a repeat of garrisons.

Being secluded/phased away from major cities.
I want to literally go from say the streets of sw. Walk up to someones house. Or mine. Plot phasing would be ideal.

I think grizzly hills and azure span would be very popular, draenor shadowmoon, valsharah, mulgore and some desert biome like tanaris.

Not sure what irl has to do with it, but I’m hoping we get house options other than the human and orc capital city styles/locations.

That was a very human home in the promo, which is fine, but I don’t want a garrison situation.

Sign me up for an apartment in Amirdrassil though.

I mean as with other companies theres definitely a case of lessons learned there.

Highly likely housing will be instanced and connected by portal to main city. Probably wont be able to mount inside or outside(yard if there is one), profession vendors, auctioneers and any useful npc’s will likely be excluded such that you still need to pass through hubs, though you might have access to tradechat.

We will see.

Even if they repeat some things from garrisons, it def wont be 100% not even 80% similar

First pick is definitely Ardenweald or Bastion.

Second pick is Duskwood or Drustvar by Fallhaven town.

Given that the alliance garrison is already in Draenor shadowmoon valley, I wouldnt think so.

I mean… that’s how it works for a lot of player housing. ESO and SWTOR and Rift all have different costs for different plot styles or housing sizes.

I hope we’ll get a mix of housing options. Instanced condos in major cities where you can step out your front door into [INSERT CITY], isolated communities in rural areas, and lonely estates in the middle of nowhere.

I mean, whats wrong with a repeat, its beautiful and a pretty iconic location i feel.

nothing per say, just seems a little silly to set up shop where you already are.

Different modes of housing, even if they are pretty similar sounds too un-streamlined for blizz to consider doing it sorry to say.

the idea of like, a condo or a flat in a city/town does sound kind of interesting

but what if it was a neutral city, and your upstairs neighbors were tauren or draenei. All that clipcloping :face_with_spiral_eyes:

or if you had a neighbor that was forsaken. The smell

Or what if an HOA was attached to the property? You just know there’d be an elf of some sort, probably a nightbourne, all up in your business all the time for minor infractions

GRIZLLY  HILLS

everytime someone kick me from the dungeon lfr (toxic) i would be back to my confy and beautiful virtual house to listen the grizzly hills music (good).
all my dreams are coming true, blizzard MUST add housing customization to in game shop so i can max my house only by spending in cash, im father of 20 and fugitive in 10 states, I only have 30min to play a day using my wife’s boyfriend laptop, if they dont allow casuals players like me enjoy this new feature its going to flop hard if they let features only avaiable for those sweaty tryhards (bad). casuals are the pillar of the game, we carry this game alone by spending half our salary in virtual dinosaurs and goods and posting on forum during our work break, housing fans, arise!!!

we should have to clear the latest raid on heroic to qualify for housing…

Yeah grizzly hills is def my #1, though if we buy these plots with gold….i imagine grizzly will be the priciest.

One can only hope lol.

If you want to see a fantastic system. New world.
The plots are in the city and the phases rotate between players. So you can literally walk through someones house, exit the back door and its all seamless with the town. And if you want to see a different house. Run out of the city to trigger another house to phase.

Granted the customization is buns. The system itself is amazing.

I more prefer customization myself, i liked the system on wildstar. I also have very fond memories of my humble abode in Star wars galaxies i think it was on the planet lok. I would spend hours of my week there despite it being out in the sticks like 10-15 minutes ride away from the nearest city, and i know it was the same story for many in that game.
