Support the IT guys dealing with this

To all the people working their asses off right now to fix the issue:
Thank you for busting your asses to cure the “problem”. There are lots of people out here who know you are going through hell right now and are thankful for it.

Totally agree,
Thank you.
Not all of us are going to lose our minds over this.
We actually appreciate all you do.

I imagine there are quite a few who were at their kids soccer games or getting some weekend errands done and they’ve received the “need you at HQ” text by now.

Finally, a level headed thread I can agree with.

Thank you OP

I support this post for supporting the game I love and support, for supporting its players. I pray to my lord and savior Thrall that it is solved soon and the tech guys get free pizza and beer.

I was just reading up on how to deal with an issue as this.
yeah, no small task for sure. Respect for the IT guys, because I have no clue.

I like to lose my mind for the first 10-15 minutes. It’s fun to be a crazed fan. After that it’s just yea whatever, Netflix and provocative internet material exist.

Perp would do it on a Saturday. What a jerk. Guess I’ll go outside.

I agree, we will live. It happens, it is a DDOS and blizzard is doing what they can. It is not the kind of thing that just has a fix.

It figures this would happen today, 5 minutes after I was able to resub.

Great post @bakuson!
I was a network administrator at a hospital for almost 8 years. This stuff DOES happen. It doesnt matter what you have in place to prevent it. And when it does happen, the IT guys are called in and on the front lines. It never ceases to amaze me that people who dont understand what an ordeal this is think that its so easy to just “get the servers back up”. Its not. Its a serious pain in the butt and it involves a lot of hours and teamwork to get things back in the green. It was enough where I worked, I cant imagine what these guys are going through!

Lol, like what are the IT guys doing?

Turning off and restarting the router/modem? Sure, here’s your $80 per hour.

You forgot to mention that IT support ends at the gateway. There is only so much you can do, and then you need support from your backbone provider.

I would use a ‘like’ on this post, BUT, ………Blizz has said I have used up my ‘likes’ for the day.

That sucks.
