Super Snails April 2025

Everyone always raves about Squirt. But a lot of folks don’t realize how good Snail Fight! is.
Just as fast as Squirt with the right team.

2 battles will level a pet from 1 to 25 this week with just the safari hat (no treats required). And unlike Squirt, you can actually get character XP doing it on repeat.
Also, the XP potions from the current event apply to XP earned on the character from pet battles!

Added bonus, if you’ve quested through Highmountain, you can talk to the Stonedark Emissary at the bottom of Thunder Totem to be teleported within a few steps away from the Pet master.

Go check the #1 Staff pick strat on Xu Fu
Can do 4 battles before you need to heal pets with this team/strat.

Great way to casually level both pets and toons at the same time.

No kidding, this is great ! Never knew about this and it’s a welcome break from Squirt.

I never got more than 3 battles without having to heal but with bandages so plentiful nowadays, no problem.

BTW, cave entrance at 42.5 25.5.

There are several tamers in legion that give that much XP. Check the tamer details on Xu-Fu for “high XP” tamers.

I do all my levelling on Legion Tamers.

Snail Fight! is the best. You can do it with a no-bandage strat, or with a very very fast strat.

But the pet area in Dalaran has several tamers, so something is available there quite often. Leave a levelling alt there with PvP on for the bonus.

Yep. Xu-Fu has a block on the homepage that shows the daily power-leveling Legion master that up that day.

It’s really 4 since it doesn’t matter if the Kunchong Hatchling dies in the fight so long as it gets the cast of Pheremones off first, which it always does. Just heal up after the fight that it dies to stretch your bandage stock further.

Duh, wasn’t factoring in those automatic heals that takes place after battle ends. Yep, is 4, thanks.

I really have to thank the op because this is the first time in years that I have had less than 40 pets to level in my queue. Taking a character to level with Legion pet battles really added to my motivation to keep pushing through my pet queue. I may even finish the last pets I have to level before pet battle week ends. I am super happy with this.

Glad to be of assistance.
Yeah whenever I see Snail Fight up, especially during pet week, I will usually take that opportunity to level neglected alts while I try to chew through my Pet stable to get them all to 25.

Yes. And any Fight Night in Dalaran is good too. I don’t even bother with Squirt because I like to level random toons as I pet battle. The non-Pet Week bonus loss isn’t even that great, because you can level a pet in two battles during Pet week, but during every other time it only takes three (with a pet treat).

Squirt’s hype is all about the speed in which you can finish each battle to speed level pets. That’s why none of the other WoD menagerie battles are ever mentioned.

That speed is what put’s Squirt exponentially above all other pet masters in the game, when combined with the zero CD heal pet ability you get having a ranked up menagerie.

Snail Fight! offers similar speeds with the current strategies and team comps found. And while you don’t get to spam heal pet without CD, the current top strat for the battle means you don’t have to heal until you’ve finished 4 fights (which is ~1 pet bandage before Heal Pet comes off CD after the next 4 fights) . Plus it gives player XP, which Squirt and the other WoD Menagerie battles don’t.

There are just aren’t any other fights currently that offer the wide range of rewards Legion battles give with the speed of Squirt.

The fastest Squirt strat is 0:58, the almost miraculous strategy by nogulpfrog with a P/S Sunglow Cobra. But I’ll bet that most people use one of the other strats - still fast, but a few seconds slower, at 1:06 to 1:20.

Compare that to the Dala Tamers:

Amalia: 1:05, or 1:25 with no bandages needed
Bodhi: 1:09
Sir Galveston: 0:59
Tiffany: 0.54

Snail Fight! is crazy, ofc, with two strats at 0:54 and 0:57, faster than Squirt, and some no-bandage options. Best battle in the game.

There are other Legion Tamers that are not quite so optimal, but it’s fine if you aren’t working through a queue of 20+ pets to level. For some reason, I always seem to get Jarrun when I have one new pet. Or I’ll just do a run down from Thundering to Mo-ruk or Water for old time’s sake.

The other Menagerie battles are not mentioned because they give only a tiny amount of XP. If you want XP, wild battles would be better than any of them.

Super Squirt is up maybe 2 days a year.

Pet Week is up about 50 days a year,

That’s a big difference!

The big advantage of Squirt is that you can prepare just one team, which is great for beginners with small rosters, and you can plan your day in advance. And Squirt has free heals on demand.

The big advantage of Legion Tamers is that they are available maybe 15 times more often than Squirt. IMHO, Legion Tamers are far better for anyone with a decent roster and a stock of bandages, or Charms to buy them (they’re cheap! )
