Super Mario RPG Remake for Nintendo Switch Console

Hey all,

As I’m sure many of you folks are aware, Nintendo has announced recently that they are doing a complete remake of Super Mario RPG which first launched on the SNES.

From what I’ve seen so far of the game, It looks like it will be really fun to play. Planning on getting it via GameStop online.

So any of you seen any footage yet of this game? If so, Are you planning to purchase it?

Lets hear your thoughts!

Everyone needs to buy this.

That will get Square and Nintendo to work on an actual, new sequel.

Never played it but I know its well loved. So I’m happy for the fans of it. All I know is apparently the puppet guy is the fan fav. I know folks wanted them in Smash and were a lil bummed he was just a cheap skin instead of an actual character

The trailer showcased a little bit of the revamped combat UI.

And yes, I’m totally buying this. The original was the very first RPG I’ve ever played and one of my top favorite games of all time.

It’s not authentic without “Legend of the Seven Stars” in the title.

meh

i loved super mario RPG as a kid. one of my top10 games of all time prob

but this remake looks meh

the graphics r just too bright/cartoony/kiddy … i dont remember super mario RPG being all sunshine and rainbows in fact it had some kinda dark moments which i liked

I am just not big on remasters, or even most remakes. If they are a full blown re-make new game like the difference between Final Fantasy Legend and Sword of Mana then I’ll play both games.

90% of the time though, I’m satisfied having played the original, and am not interested in something that isn’t definitively new.

Edit: And to be clear, in this case, I did play the original, a long time ago when it first came out on an SNES. It’s part of why I never got into Paper Mario, it just wasn’t really Super Mario RPG anymore.

Little did I know that nothing would be like Super Mario RPG anymore and something resembling Paper Mario but 2009 or so would actually be something special, but that’s a whole different conversation.
