I’d like to reach rank 13 first, but I’m not sure why.

It is for me, so therefore it is for all.

Is this another quasi-FOTM type thing?

Sod was always kinda mid unfortunately there are just better games atm

What do you mean “is this it?” Literally every single player quit this goofy garbage dumb game mode a YEAR ago lmao

Yet here you are, reading the forum posts on it a year later for no particular reason?

While I agree SoD has disappointed a bit with its delivery, WoW has always been a ‘you make it what it is’ type game. Gotta find your own enjoyment at times when the game stagnates.

I mean a buncha people are gonna quit tho. It’s always like that come next phase

It’s WoW. When people quit, it’s rarely ever permanent. I quit phase 2 and ended up back here half way through phase 4.

Yea i could see a bunch of people skip the aq phase and nust come back for naxx, aq and everything related to it was just not fun

The game is hitting the phase where only raids matter. sure, there are still UBRS runs and some players still need reals for trinkets. but since there is no constant influx of new players and nobody is leveling alts, the demand for 5-mans is drying up.

Ya… I think that’s why I liked phase 1 because something was always going on. I’ve been in a few guilds now on my “raider toon” and outside of raid day it’s dead. I see random people doing other “stuff” but it’s not really the things I want to do. So I kind of stop finding a reason to log on (like the rest of my last 3 guilds) and then I personally don’t see the point of a monthly fee to play once a week.

It’s not like the game is dead… but if you have a group you like to play with and they only log in once a week it’s kind of dead. My first guild was amazing… right up until around phase 3 when raid logging took over as the norm. Until they stopped logging in at all and I’ve been through 3 more guilds since then with the same pattern on a much shorter timeline. Last guild I had my Warlock with did a few weeks very well then tried a “merger” with another raid guild and that worked for about two weeks before we didn’t have enough to do raids and people started vanishing.

That’s cause phase 1 was fresh. It didn’t have some kinda special formula it was just “fresh server” lol

Nah it was the fact you could level to 25 with ease and there was no reason to not just level every class. Maybe even multiples if you really liked a class and wanted to do BFD more than every 3 days. I was doing BFD at least once per day and got 13 characters repped up as far as I could in that so called Ashenvale pvp event. We had over 100 active members through all of phase 1 and until about the 3rd/4th week of phase 2. No drop off at all in phase 1.

By the time my original guild got to phase 3 nobody wanted to raid more than once a week and nobody was running/leveling alts in our guild. We technically still had 2 raid teams but by the 3rd week of phase 3 we couldn’t even fill one raid and that guild was dead before the end of phase 3. The people we lost prior to phase 3 were never seen on discord again and the ones we still had in phase 3… were still at least active on our discord when phase 4 about to start, but then vanished when the patch notes etc came out. After a bit of discussion to the point they weren’t going to play Phase 4. Phase 2 feedback was specific to the raid as the reason they were going to leave and phase 3 was more or less the same. Other guilds I was in after, didn’t have any of that discussion and just had people stop showing up.

Which is where I currently am with my Warlock (this druid was my primary until phase 4)… in that we don’t have enough people to raid 3 weeks after we merged with another guild due to that many more people no longer logging in. So my boredom is that I don’t really feel like looking for yet another guild. Anyway this got way longer than intended.

u guys dont wanna hit r14 to replace the weps in 2 weeks??? why not?

What do you mean by players are now quitting?

The SoD raiding population has been in the 75K-88K raider range for the past 14 weeks. Cataclysm is roughly at 101K now and Vanilla addes in 10K or so more.

That’s likely what the matured audience for the current Classic offering is going to be until the next major release (Classic+) comes out and the population spikes up again.

Neglecting pvp = kill player retention and give people less reason to log in outside of raids

Hopefully they learned their lesson this.

Just started on Return of Reckoning and it is so LIT especially if you like pvp.

Definitely recommend.

AQ gate opening will have lots of content.

And btw it’s not a bad thing for the game to ebb and flow during patch cycles. Just raidlog or level an alt.
