A lot of video games out there are still popular today because of the ability for the player base to create their own fun. As games become more controlled and homogenized people start to lose a sense of adventure and wonder of owning their own performance.
We see that in a lot of Nintendo games such as Smash Brothers where the higher competitive gameplay is less about ability combos and more about dissecting interactions between game mechanics.
The secret agent questline sword sunlight had a unique interaction where it scaled with spell damage and dealt holy damage. That was recently stealth changed to not be the case this morning. I would like to ask that that change be reverted in a healthy and respectful manner.
Fun and unique Mechanics such as this allow The player base to enjoy themselves more fully and own their performance in a non-restrictive way. While I understand that this mechanic may not have been originally intended I would like for it to be included now that the cat is out of the bag.
I like to suggest that if it is reincluded that the scaling be brought down into a balanced level and also that it is properly classified as a sword. The current version of the item works somewhat like a fishing pole in that we cannot use our abilities with it.
By bringing it into the current balance calculations I believe we can have a robust and enjoyable play style around the sword.
Currently the old 100% scaling version was about 25% better than any other pre-scarlet Enclave build for paladins. However it did not scale very well and therefore was several thousand DPS behind full best in slot builds with Leogan or the Ashbringer.
Due to this I do not anticipate there being an overall scaling or balance issue and would like to request that this be taken into account.
