Honestly I think what it looks like the problem is the hp pools are just way too bloated.
I’m also just going to go ahead and say I still think trash is just tedious and after having the BFD experience where we could blow past trash felt so much better it wasn’t even funny.
I’m aware that trash was maybe just too stupid easy but Jesus massive thick trash packs feel like complete garbage to get through.
No one is looking for that type of game or experience. The Raids should be easily pugged with random comps and just Tank/Spank pick up loot, make some new friends. No one really cares about parsing and that is a disease hurting the essence of an MMO.
In SOD 99% of the population should roll in and beat the Raids without much effort and that makes for a better MMO. If a small % is doing Raids or there you can’t get into a Raid because of your Class/Build or Logs then SOD failed.
Raids should be for the 99% not the 1%. Period
Again they really should just remove parsing, make a fun game that everyone can do and let you enjoy what an MMO should be about.
Good. New Raids should be cleared on Day 1 they should be easy and attainable by everyone.
Not to play Devils advocate I didn’t play Classic Vanilla wasn’t Naxx cleared in a day on re-release?
For myself I don’t like Vanilla and hope that SOD changes all the bad design and adds QoL to make it a good game. Think many of us are in that boat. New content, get us to max level fast and easy Raids to enjoy with new builds/class design. I personally wouldn’t or resubbed if it wasn’t for Gladiator Stance.
It was, but their claim was if Naxx was released, brand new, it would be cleared immediately.
Obviously not, as Classic Naxx succeeded based on the strategies and experience from the top guilds in Vanilla, and several months of prep work on the private servers.
Glad stance + Shield Slam spec is VERY fun. It’s also so threat heavy that it’s pretty much unplayable in group content
Retail player alert! Instantly disregard their opinion!
Only challenge should be keeping your big guilds together, not raids.
Sunken Temple isn’t the best.
Oh no, can’t PUG an 8/8 the very first time you go in there while still wearing level 40 gear? Better nerf it to the ground. Everyone knows raid bosses should immediately fall over the very first time you look at them.
There’s only so many lockouts, and I must have level 50 BIS or the game’s going to die!!one!1
^that’s you guys. Lazy, entitled, loot hungry, and loudly complaining at all times.
Half the dudes complaining probably went in there after having spammed incursions. Not geared, not ready, and went in there with a PUG or a baddie guild with the expectation that things would be like your last ZF run.
TL;DR: anyone trying to casualize this game even more should go back to LFR. You’re all bad, have bad takes, and need to go back. At least give it a few lockouts before calling for nerfs you absolute goons.
Naxx is pugged by Dad gamers still. Classic Era has plenty of full clear groups. Albeit you do need to have AQ40 gear, but if your gear is up to par, classic Naxx is not that hard. 4H and Saph/KT are the only bosses I would assume “difficult”, maybe Loatheb as well for the healers.
Considering you’re calling for nerfs on the first lockout of a raid that has been cleared, I’d suggest that full gnomer gear means nothing, and you should dry your eyes and L2P
I’m a casual player. Maybe 1 to 2 hours a day IF that. I’m completely irrelevant when it comes to participating in ST imo. I don’t have the time to get prebis, or even the time to raid ST. I don’t think this game is meant for casual players. I’m not whining, it is what it is. But it is unfortunate for the casual gamer.
Yeah, it is what it is. You could still have progression by collecting a full set of decent dungeon gear and be ready for next phase, but ST is likely not a thing for you unless you were carried by your guild.
I really don’t like how they’ve phased SoD and put in low level raids. It creates a constant FOMO and hasn’t really done much to help the casual playerbase. If classic+ ever becomes a thing, I’d like it if everyone could just make it to 60 and phase the endgame raids like they’ve done previously. At least casuals could do some MC, BWL, and AQ20.
I’m pretty casual as well, ironically the only time I really play is at work. Besides that point from a developer stand point I would prefer more players be able to experience the raids. This just isn’t happening and to me, personally, I think that’s a failure on the dev side, if I were them I would feel like I’m not creating an environment where skill > meta gaming.
Watch in a few weeks the forums will be flooded with “dead game” because of this. I get my characters to max level and then walk away play something else cause I don’t have time to deal w the parsers, nor do I want to. It’s a game I’m tryna enjoy it, don’t feel like farming consumes and world buffs.
I’m not whining about this I would just prefer raids that require more skill through mechanics where you can bring any comp and gear just makes it easier allowing for mistakes to happen more.
Just my 2 cents, idc what other people are doing, I’m happy for the ones that love the raids difficulty. Just don’t expect great numbers for how many players are raiding when a lot of the audience for this game is classic players.
I pugged with a guild a few nights ago and we did very well for a first time raid. 6/8 because the losers wanted to go to bed. Besides a little to much HP and too much trash I think the raid is quite enjoyable. If you cant comprehend the mechanics of this raid it may be time to hang up that mouse and keyboard.
The reason we didn’t have a submerge was the catch up gear reworks + dire maul being in the game either day 1 or early. Those things came late in vanilla to catch people up and they were STRONG.
