First off, I like the real vendor. But we really dont need previous raid gear on it.
Why are we adding more and more items to the real vendor.

Why take away the reason for casters to go back to Sunken Temple? Why do what you said you werent going to do? Why make the previous raids irrelevant?

This is literally one of the reasons people like wow classic, the previous raid tiers dont become obselete upon a new raid release.

It’s not difficult to do ST, it’s tedious. This item in particular won’t even have the same stats every time when it drops. Explosive trap is hitting for 3k, from 41 yards, every 9 seconds, for no mana and can proc entrapment. If we’re gonna complain, let’s do it right. Also, 2H Shaman needs a belt from Gnomeregan (Yes, really, this is how incompetent Zirene is), expect another item to be put up.
I don’t get why this is such a big deal either way.
This game has a very discrete end of life, and so they don’t want to highly gatekeep everything as a result. People either forget that or don’t acknowledge it.
There is so much to do in the game that requiring a previous tier grind doesn’t make a ton of sense.
Besides, it will probably get replaced by next raid tier.
We get mixed messaging of the devs saying that they don’t want to make current tier gear good because they like people mixing in the best items from previous tiers to keep old content relevant.
Then they throw that all away by gutting anything decent from p3 or giving it away for free.
Ah - then ok, I get it. That would definitely make people chase something really good thinking it would be the only way to get it. Wasn’t aware of that philosophy!
Get AV offhands? Also, why make the offhands more available while also buffing 2h caster weps, just going to make people still want mageblade because you’re that much closer to bis with your nearly free OH.
In a seasonal game mode do you really want to go to ST with a group consisting of a tank and like 15 casters to compete for a 33% drop every few days? I sure don’t. For reference our group saw the fire/healing off-hand once throughout all of p3. I’m so over ST.
Also, stop equating SoD with classic. They are not the same thing. Every time they make any change people come on here whining about how this ain’t the classic they grew up with, well no duh SoD is: 1) seasonal (i.e., on a condensed timescale compares to classic or retail), 2) a modernization of classic that implements some ideas from retail, also using knowledge and advancements occurring after vanilla with an entirely different development team, and 3) experimental.
people are gonna want it no matter what - how gamers are. They will roll on it and bank it because they might get an OH.
I already have the drakestone OH, and the arcane one too - and I don’t care if others have access to it. I got to level with mine, and I don’t have to spend reals on it either.
I can see both sides but this is just not a battle that I’d pick.
Sure a couple bis OHs on the vendor isnt that bad.
I mean warriors are out here trying to find an UBRS without a rogue resing Felstriker just for their OHbis and they still might never see it drop.

May as well put the ST fists on the vendor, HEY and when BWL comes out, lets just flood the vendor with all the Tier 1 pieces from MC. /s
seasonal or not, it’s brutal when previous content is reduced in value because they make changes to its acquisition after the fact. Every single person makes decisions on what gear to go after, whether grinding factions, soft ressing certain items, whatever. When devs go an retrofit elements of the game to make them easier, it undermines the time/achievement/sometimes luck of others and the game as a whole.
It’s the same battle over and over again. Devs continue to undermine previous experience as I noted above. After MC is out for 2 weeks should we just place .5 on the vendor? I’m sure all the folks that did that chain would be thrilled
Well, ST is now “old” content…not just any old content though…content that is hated. Not one person in my guild wanted to run ST for experience when p4 launched. Compare that to gnomer and bfd? Crazy.
I’m sure blizzard saw the massive decline in people running ST and perhaps this was the reaction.
They’re already irrelevant, precisely because only a very small minority of specs have key items that remain relevant. That’s not because ST is good, it is because lvl60 itemization is bad. That no better offhand exists is a failure of itemization. They need to add all the librams, idols, and totems to the real vendor as well, because those are even more niche and if people weren’t forming raids to get their lone Warlock a small chance at a BiS offhand… they aren’t going to do that for a Feral Druid hoping for 2% more Swipe damage.
The Drakestone makes sense though. It’s 2 layers of RNG, 1st you need to see it actually drop, 2nd you have a 33% chance at getting that stats you want.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if they add the MC Belt/Bracer tokens to the vendor seeing as they drop from trash (assuming the Belt/Bracer isn’t a boss drop).
If you have played so little you havent gotten it yet, you arent going to get it because no one else is going back to do that, certainly not just for you to get something you dont need to still do the content.
This is giving them access to it. Nothing more nothing less. You had nearly 6 months to get it. Anyone who cares that much about kin max progressing, has it already.
