I’m just wondering if anyone else knows why sunfury fire was nerfed in the ptr? They weren’t OP from what I was experiencing but still fun even with the fire blast/ Phoenix flames reduction. I’m just wondering if anyone else has any insight because I can’t find anything?

I think Blizzard would just like us to not play mage this expansion. They’ve derailed every single mage spec/hero with combination at some point over this season. He’ll, they even blew up Dalaran, they haven’t exactly been subtle about it, lol.
Seems to be the common denominator
Blizzard’s motto for the past decade seems to be “if it’s fun, it needs to be nerfed”.
Guessing because it was Combustion CD was getting super low with the tier set / UI / and crits via Hyperthermia/Kindling. Therefore we weren’t casting Fireball enough, which seems like the top priority for Fire going into the next season. I’ll probably still run it because the alternative is being forced to play around Meteor which I hate having to aim lol.
If you mean the tier set nerf, it was needed because Combustion was basically on a 20s cooldown with Bloodlust.
I don’t really understand Blizzard’s logic. They nerfed our resources because we had too many and too much Combustion uptime but at the same time give us a tier set that’s about Combustion CDR.
Right… so why give us that tier set of all they seem to be worried about is if we are casting lame fireball?
And the “best” part is that after the tier set is long gone they’ll forget to revert the nerfs they put in place because of it so the spec will feel like crap for months on end until a lightbulb goes off somewhere… Seen this movie one too many times over the years. /sigh
