I don’t understand the question. If you are asking me if having Feral Lunge being baseline be OP for PvP. I would say no, because that 1 talent you are saving wouldn’t go into anything “busted”. Feral lunge is by far the weakest gap closer in the game. Less damage than an auto attack, shorter range then other gap closers, longer CD, doesn’t apply any sort of debuff or buff.
I still love the ability and am grateful for it. But the facts are the facts.
I meant: What about sunder suddenly unlocks the Feral lunge? They are not related in the slightest. As you go down the tree it’s usually related on some level to what is above it. I’d love if lunge was baseline, but I just don’t understand why Sunder is the only option to go if you want a gap closer.
It doesn’t make any sense for sundering to be a prerequisite for Feral Lunge. Feral Lunge if it is to remain a talent should be easily accessible off to the side somewhere.
There is more then pve in this game. It’s cc is there for the pvp. I am fine with it doing more then just damage, we have some really hard hitting buttons already so it’s not like we are lacking there, and it looks like Stormbringer is going to bring big cleaves for us with tempest.
Pretty decent idea to make it a stun. I personally feel like it should put up a LoS wall up. I know thats a touchy subject but I often thought it would be cool if shammy had a option to create LoS with earth. Both for pvp and pve. Could come in real clutch during LoS mechanics and would let the shaman deal with pressure better in pvp. Both peeling for others and themselves. Earth feels like one of the most under used spell types in the game so I kind of want more of it.
Agreed- just like Ebyssian did when protecting our character and Sabellian from Fyrakk when in the cavern. So many cool elemental ideas from this expansion. Would be a shame if shamans don’t get anything from it.
Since when is Sundering hated? Sundering is a great ability exactly as it is, it’s just a victim of Enhancement builds being point locked out of being able to afford it.
Sundering’s primary value is as an instant AoE CC, so not having hooks is a feature, not a bug. The S2 tier bonus added hooks to Sundering which turned it into a dps cooldown, which felt awful, because you couldn’t hold it for its actual CC function.
It also still has a place in our CC profile as it, Capacitor, and Thundershock are all different CC effects, and don’t share diminishing returns, making Enhancement almost unparalelled in our ability to shut down entire packs in M+.
The only thing wrong with Sundering is that we can’t afford it in points.
I don’t think anyone was saying it was bad or even bugged. Just that, yeah it’s only purpose is CC. Because it isn’t doing much else. And it could be so much more than that.
In other Shaman news: “I’ll take what I can get”
My understanding of this post was: How can we make this live up to its potential. instead of, it needs an overhaul.
