No it’s not. It’s a one hour shutdown, and may not last that long.
I’ll take “Pulling random BS out of your bum for $100, Alex”
IKR? Now I have no excuse to do my online homework anymore.
Reminds me of Spaceballs scene where Dark Helmet is looking to override the self-destruct, flips the cover to see an Out of Order sign on the button and says “F#$k! Even in the future nothing works!”
People complain that Bliz didn’t do enough to “stop the DDOS attacks!!!”
They do maintenance to try and make things better “why are they shutting down the servers?!?”
“There must always be a Complaint King”
They could choose to do the maintenance on a day not so many people are trying to play. I can’t play during the week so its a little frustrating for them to choose Sunday for a shutdown. It may be a convenient time for West coast players but East coast it falls during a prime time in the morning
Server List is up, just showing Offline. We are getting close people.
I’m not sure, but i would assume it has something to do with yesterdays ddos attacks.
Yes, we all want to play, but I’m going to defer to blizzard to do what they must to keep the game running for the long term.
Servers are up!
I’m already in. So…
As both a trained network tech and someone who works for an ISP, I can tell you DDOS “protection” means blocking packets on certain common ports. The problem is, any port can be targeted, and since WOW uses certain specific ports, they can’t protect against DDOS without also making the game not work.
Past 2 days…these problems are awwwwffuuulllyy convenient around the time of the Mythic Invitational
What I really hate is that they have Classic downtime on Sunday. Then they have another downtime on Tuesday. Why do they need two days?
This was posted on Twitter yesterday
“All WoW Realms except Rattlegore are back online and stable. The investigation continues for that realm. Some players may experience persistent login issues until realm maintenance tomorrow morning.”

So not a huge shock, but hay these guys are working on Sunday to smooth things out… But god forbid people cant play wow for a little while
So no one where you live work on weekend?
And here I felt bad for the people who have had to work the entire weekend who normally don’t just to deal with the mess the little brat caused…
Thanks Blues! Some of us do appreciate you guys and gals
Because if you read the EULA you’ve agreed to. Blizz doing whatever and whenever they deem necessary to their service is exactly what you’ve agreed to.
So yea any adult complaining about this is being as entitled as it gets. Logically you’ve agreed to this.
So hypothetically you’d be fine with paying a subscription for 100% downtime right? Because if you ever want the server up you’d be entitled. Makes perfect sense to me. Great logic!
Paying for 100% downtime in a whole month is quite a stretch from an hour maintenance. Right?
Hypothetically though no I wouldn’t be ok with that.
Let’s look at it realistically though. It’s the 2nd week of the game being live with a massive amount of players trying to get in. Now throw in a DDOS attack.
Yea. Realistically there might be some downtime.
No but if you’re whining about maintenance downtime in the first month of a games launch (especially when the maintenance was announced on the login screen). Yea. I’m calling that entitled or a noob that has never seen an mmo launch. Let alone one like this.
Glad you caught up. For a minute there I thought you were confused.
