Summoning Stones and Warmode

I cannot for the life me rationalize why everyone must be on the same PVP to toggle to summon other players.

When I initially experienced this on BETA I was 100% sure it was a bug and would be corrected before it even went live. Here we are now with 8.2 on the horizon and we still cannot use summon stones unless our PVP toggles are the same.

Why Why why?!

Is there some possible exploit that I am unaware of?

Is just a matter of lazy programming and they cant/wont put the time into a usable summon stone in different phases?

Too bad if we are outside an instance its the identical problem eh?

Why wouldn’t you zone in if some of you’re WM and some aren’t?

“Got a lock, summons inc!”
/readycheck!
Key start!

But if you’re doing instances/keys, why the need for WM?

Youre trolling now but…

Ok, Why even have summoning stones then? For RP?

Because i have an opposite view to yours, it means i’m trolling?

Ah, cool story bro.

We are aware that as long as 2 in a or out of warmodenrespecrivelynare at the stone you can summon people that are in fact in the other phase right?

I mean there are only 2 choices so at worst one is flagged or not flagged, but the other 4 can still meet up

You dont have an opposite view, its just ridiculous that you fix a broken mechanic in the game with “hur dur bring my lock.”

One thing that would be possible if summon stones worked across WM phases is players with WM off could summon unlimited numbers of WM on players while being untouchable, which could be pretty bad.

As it is now, using summon stones in WM means risking being found and foiled by the opposite faction, enabling PvP solutions to PvP problems. Cross-phase summoning would open a loophole in that.

But why does this have to be limited in this way? There is no reason for it.

That’s just one option, but we usually all head to the instance and start summoning and not wait in Boralus.

That is what we all do now, just head there. I just dont see a reason why it needs to be that way. Just seems as though it a hindrance for no reason at all.

What is your proposed solution?

When someone clicks the stone for a summon the “clickable portal” shows up in all phases.

See my post. If summon stones worked cross-phase, you end up with situations like two WM-off Horde sitting at the Gnomeregan summon stone to summon a 40m raid of WM-on Horde for raiding Ironforge with no way for Alliance to stop the summoners.

Two non warmode people can summon a 40 man raid of PVP toggled people now…

Why? Because I want to smash Alliance players and you don’t.

Not saying you perse, just a general term. In order to do that I am in a different phase with others that want to smash Alliance players. There are those in my phase that want to smash Horde players as well.

Should you be forced into an unwanted smashing to help me summon? Could I sit and mock silly Alliance with a summoning immunity while I summon?

Just be happy we can A) summon each other across phases when someone else of the same phase arrives and B) we can group together and run the instance with a group of people flagged for smashing and a group of players that are not flagged for smashing.

I said smashing a lot huh? It is because I like to smash Alliance heads

That’s a bug then, and should be reported.

Not a single word of this is correct.
