Blizzard doesnt improve. they change just to make changes
Man yes. Let us remove observers from warlocks. And mage water elementals to.
Now, this is the dumbest thing to me to remove this bullcorn. Might as well remove hunters ability to tame pets from the game. And warriors canāt charge anymore. Rogues get stealth ability removed.
Like man blizzard. Can you just not make a stupid decision, for once.
I am being sarcastic about the rogue stealth getting removed and warrior charge getting removed. But, I also wouldnāt be surprised if blizz did remove those things lol. Like, it is the dumbest thing to just remove one of the most iconic things from the frost spec of mages.
I was always more of a frosty guy anyways. But man. I guess, no more water elemental. To heck with blizzard sometimes.
the only useful thing my water elemental does is a targeted Frost Nova. That is what I will miss about him. I could set up shatter combos with it for some good fun. Other than that it was nothing more than a dot. I play my lock when I want to play a pet caster class anyway.
i have tried to run with water elemental for one dungeon.
It constantly get stuck and despawn. All the time. Pets are hindrance. Since the first day of lonely winter - every mage used that. And permanent elemental was always super weak and useless.
It kind of feels like an instance of Blizzard deciding everyone plays for power and only power, not for fun. I like having the water elemental following me around, but I also think Lonely Winter is the more powerful ability. Why not make the permanent water elemental its own option, instead of forcing a choice where the elemental is almost guaranteed to lose? That forced choice makes it look like players donāt like the elemental at all.
A game doesnāt have to be all about what makes someone more powerful. I typically play solo so I CAN have fun, instead of needing to be as strong as possible because I think a group deserves that. I choose solo fun (water elemental) over grouping power (Lonely Winter). But Blizzard detected fun and summoned the almighty Raid God, the Nerf Bat!
Loading, please wait.
well it is. Game is focused on endgame hard content. And if youāre not doing that - you can pick any talents you want. Open world mobs not gonna kill you if you use elemental.
Yeah, but I canāt choose my permanent water elemental if they take it away forā¦reasons?
Like I said, I do choose solo content so I can pick the talents I like.
summon cosmetic pet elemental. Same dps. Just a bit smaller.
New cd-based elemental will be actually part of frost core kit. Just like shaman with his elementals.
I truly feel like it canāt be that hard to just, rebalance the frost elemental so it isnāt pathetic and all that though.
But the more blizzard changes the game, and the less complex it becomes, and the less choices we have, it isnāt really that much fun anymore.
I mean, It really isnāt all that broken in my op. It isnāt like you have to summon it to do anything useful. So to those people, they can just choose not to summon the thing.
Now, people like me. We arenāt even going to be able to summon it anymore even if we wanted to.
Heck, I wouldnāt even care if they made it just some wierd pet that follows you around and did jack. At least give us the option to have the darn thing summoned. Those who donāt want it out, they can just, not click the summon elemental ability then.
Just because it seems to be getting missed - the water elemental is not gone. But the spell to summon it has been removed and the elemental is instead part of another CD.
Itās still not cool to remove the perma version and Iād really like to see this change replaced with one that just makes the water elemental worth using in its current form.
Man and the same thing with aspects, and the tree form for druids. Itās a stupid change.
Like why canāt I click a bloody button on my druid, and become a permanent healing tree. Why does it have to be a stupid CD ability.
Why does aspect of the cheetah, not function like an actual aspect.
These changes just make no sense to me.
That actually made me laugh. Sadly it will be my only option. I have never liked summoning a pet for a minute of use or less, on any class. Itās not worth it. Just one more spell, nothing special about it.
BTW, at one point DKs had to choose to make their ghoul permanent, instead of lasting for a minute before dying. Not sure if it still works like that. Why couldnāt we do something similar? Those who want the temporary, more powerful one can have it, and those who want a weaker but permanent one can choose to put a point into that. Sigh. Iām just disappointed to lose the permanent water elemental for my frost mage, specifically.
It reminds me of some other heavy-handed changes Iāve seen in the past.
I started playing WoW back in MoP, played a druid for a time. So I got to enjoy that era when the druidās travel forms did not automatically shift based on terrain. So you could be in the water and in deer form. Really a minor quirk, no gameplay impact at all. Arguably clunkier. But it was cool.
I honestly will agree. You used to be able to summon permanent ghouls on dks.
Permanent aspects on hunters. Permanent tree forms on druids. ETC.
I am not a fan of the min CD abilities either. They quite frankly donāt make any sense, and just are not practical at all.
Yes. My god. The travel form bullcorn changing based on location and highest mount skill, was also one of the dumbest changes ever made to the game as well.
Now it is like, if you have flight form, you will never see cheetah form again lol. Like I donāt get you blizz. I donāt always want to turn into a bird. Sometimes, regardless of mount skill, I want to prance around like a bloody cheetah. Now, with this change, I canāt do that anymore.
Unless I go to bear form and taunt a bug and run away real quick. Kind of a pain, but that is my fix to this awful, stupid change.
The thing is - Elemental is ranged dps with casts. Every time you move - he gets left behind, canāt finish his cast, gets despawned. Itās extremely frustrating. Ghoul is melee and straight up jumps on targets.
Warlock imp suffer from same issues, but people mostly use dog anyway for interrupts.
I usually just have my mage elemental out just to have him out.
Now, I will have to click some stupid ability every 5 mins just to see him come out, and then disapear 2 seconds later. It is a dumb change, plain and simple. And not practical.
Iām not at all familiar with how WoW handles NPCs on the back-end. But tbh it seems like it would be an easy fix to give it a sort of leash? Where if you get a certain distance it breaks the casting to start following you again?
I definitely can see how the current implementation is clunky
it is practical for endgame content. Game is balanced around that. But hey, complain enough and blizzard may revert this change. Probably should do that in PTR forum, since itās the place they read.
