I have been thinking lately about how I wish there was a “Summon Random Mount” built into the UI. We get so many mounts nowadays and a lot of them never see the light of day any more. I know we have the “Summon Favorite” key bind but I do wish to have just a select few of my favorites there. Just a thought! I’m not sure if there is already a macro out there for this but I figured it would be a super easy implementation and a good way to show our forgotten mounts some love.
If you have all your mounts set to “Favorite” it does become random mount summoning.

Now, if only they’d give us a hotkey that summons mounts at random, if they haven’t already (been awhile since I’ve played).
I always hated having to download an Addon just to hotkey the random mount feature.

It also works in reverse, if you have no mounts selected as favorite it’ll pull randomly from the pool of mounts. Edit: Though I have noticed that it does certaintly like to pull the same mounts from the massive pool “randomly”. I have over 520 mounts, and I have pulled the same mounts repeatedly when just spamming the button.
Though, I do wish there was the availability of me to summon a favorite random mount of mine, and for me to randomly summon any mount I own.
Is summon random favorite button still only using flying mounts? There was a time it prioritized ground mounts where you couldn’t fly, but it was broken when I tried it in SL
I’ve noticed it’s based on where you are and what flying riding you’re allowed to do (granted I only have 7 mounts favorited, all the OG netherwings and the Grand Expidition Yak, so I’m not sure how it works if you have dynamic flying mounts favorited), if I can fly wherever I’m at, I get a flying mount, if I can’t fly, I get a ground mount.

Just to be clear or unless this feature is already in the game… I am asking for 2 buttons… a “summon favorite button” where you have select 5 favorite mounts (Yes I know this is in the game), as well as a “Summon Random Button” where it would select from all collected. Not a work around where you select all of your mounts as favorites or not selecting a favorite at all.

Is there a hotkey for mounting a random mount without addon (without having to use a hotbar button)?
Strange that I’ve never seen it.
my wish was to have 2 separate buttons. 1 to summon random favorite mounts (I know this one is already in the game 
) and 1 to summon a random mount.

It would be nice to have the favourite mount thingy a per character setup. At the moment it’s account wide.
