"Summer" Release

I am very well aware of the technical dates for Summer. However, this is such a cheap cop-out for saying it’s a “Summer release.” Not only am I a university student, I’m also a student teacher, which means I have ZERO time for WoW during school months. When I heard a SUMMER release, I was excited. Now I realize you’re pasting it on the absolute final days of Summer and saying it’s accomplished. No, people like me get screwed over.

Honestly this is one of the strangest things this forum has ever lost its head over. Summer is summer. Summer does not mean “the first day of summer.”

You do know that there’s still a third of summer left after August 26th, right? September 22nd is the “final day” of Summer.

I feel like you ignored the very first sentence of my post. I’m very well aware of the “technical” days of Summer. Most of the world still does not consider September to be part of Summer, especially ANYONE who either attends or works at a school.

And yet you still made this topic, lmao

They need to give streamers ample time to hype, this is just part of the release cycle now.

You can pick out random sections of the post to make a useless, arbitrary point all you want. Bottom line is, this screws over anyone in a position similar to mine, and Blizzard knows it.

You’re not screwed over. You were promised a summer release and you got one. I’d be willing to bet that a vast majority of people playing classic haven’t had a summer off in a decade.

This is just not true. As a teacher, I rely on ACTUAL Summer vacation in order to have free time. Aside from that, with my other job and school, I work on average 80-90 hours a week. It may be a personal situation of mine, but I guarantee there are plenty who are in a similar one. This is not a Summer release. This is a near Fall release disguised as being on time.

You’re whole post screams of entitlement. GTFO of here. Blizzard isn’t catering to just your life. Whiny babies everywhere.

Seasons arent gender fluid. Summer is summer. Thats it. How is your going back to school more important than all of the people who work full time and will only get two weeks off at most between Memorial Day and Labor Day?

Because there are definitely no teachers or students who play WoW who are now unable to because school starts up again upon release. Nope, none. Absolutely no one.

What were you going to do outside of June and July? Play Classic for 2 months then never again?

There is nothing technical about the days of summer. That is what they are.

only the kiddies that have to go back to school in the fall are triggered

Someone who doesn’t understand how seasons work or comprehend what he reads is a teacher? Bummer. :frowning:

I am a teacher and this is the profession. I get guaranteed and long stretches off during some of the best months of the year, but as a trade off I work long hours that eat into my “off time”, and I dont get to take random time off like my friends with less rigid jobs.

If this is upsetting you and you haven’t even come out of the schooling phase of being a teacher then understand you will not be getting any sympathy from the public, and likely your colleagues, when you make this kind of rant AFTER you take on a full time position. Not trying to dump on you, just letting you know that this is already a tough enough gig and a fairly thankless profession most of the time, and people in general don’t take well to us when we complain about our working periods. As most of the responses here seem to be illustrating for me if I am going to be frank about it.

You don’t live in a bubble, the game was originally launhced in November, during, … wait for it … SCHOOL. People somehow managed to survive and make the game thrive back then.

lmao teachers literally raise our children into adults and we pay them close to nothing, really goes to show you how our society truly feels about what is and isn’t “important”.

regardless of that who cares when classic comes out, at this point im just hoping they dont announce BoA gear heirlooms for leveling.

That’s all fine. Just don’t promise a Summer release and then release it this close to the END of Summer, just to be considered successful on a technicality.

I played WoW all the time when I was in school/college. Soooo… Just because you work a ton doesn’t mean others do. If you want to work 80-90 hour weeks thats on you. If you would rather play Classic then play Classic. This isn’t catered to people who work all the time. It’s a game and it comes out when it comes out.
