I recently obtained “Sul’Thraze the Lasher” and its equip effect:
“Equip: Your melee attacks have a chance to lash the enemy with the rage of Sul’thraze, lowering the target’s damage by 4, dealing 12 Shadow damage, and another 12 damage over 15 sec.”
Doesnt seem to be scaling correctly, as somewhat similar effects on weapons that drop for a level 30 are much stronger in comparison, such as Demonshear. Its effect at this level reads:
“Equip: Your melee attacks have a chance to send a shadowy bolt that causes 115 Shadow damage and an additional 117 damage over 6 sec.”
Both effects are at level 30, “Sul’Thraze the Lasher” is a higher Item Level at 115 iLvl, “Demonshear” being at iLvl 89, but “Sul’Thraze the Lasher’s” Equip effect is that same at iLvl 115 as it is in its lowest possible iLvl.
On the flip side, “Demonshear’s” Equip effect scales with the levels you obtain it, that is to say, at the bare minimum level to use “Demonshear” (level 18) it does about 47 instant and Dot Damage, while at 30 it is about 115 instant and 117 Over time.
“Sul’Thraze the Lasher” does the same amount of damage at its bare minimum level (Character Level 19) as it does at it’s highest level it can scale to (Character Level 60), but not only that, but the spell effect is that of a Item Level 23 version of “Sul’Thraze the Lasher” when the lowest possible Item Level of “Sul’Thraze the Lasher” (ie. getting it a Lvl 1 which is impossible) is Item Level 47.
Please fix the Equip Effect to scale correctly…
Also while you are at it, the spell cast from the On-Hit effect is also wrong. As it says, " [Your melee attacks have a chance to surround you with electricity, dealing 1394 Nature damage to all nearby enemies every 3 for 15 sec.] " which is just… not what it does.
The current spell effect ID on Sul’Thraze is [258933].
The original spell ID from Classic up to before the release of Cataclysm was Spell Effect ID [11658].
