It was for both dungeons and raids. But in this case i dont think it was bug abuse. Its called having a guild dedicated to bringing attention to themselves with this feat when they realized it was possible to obtain, and they either pooled their gold or bought gold with real money and offered it to guilds for their materials
Are you referring to the Esfand MC bug or something else?
Well we hope anyways. Sadly stuff like this will be mostly tarnished because no one trusts it wasn’t done without an exploit.
Sad but it is what it is.
Imagine being in a guild so dumb they give the Hand of Rag to a warrior.
Or like on many pservers, people traded with other guilds to get the materials needed. Jumping to “exploits” or “they cheated” is just ignorance.
Also this isn’t even world first for Classic. Just more spreading around misinformation, a Chinese guild got it almost a week ago.
I mean. Yeah, this will sound salty, but why are we congratulating people for what is essentially a loot slot machines?
It’s like every time a new casino is opened, we rush to the internet to talk about how one customer is the first to win the jackpot at our brand new slot machine.
Big deal.
Because there’s a lot more effort required than just completing a world quest. This entire guild came together to complete a legendary item, and I’m simply congratulating them for achieving world first.
I agree with the sentiment, however…
It wasn’t a world first. A Chinese guild did it almost a week ago.
Was in raids also
Where and when? I’ve seen no evidence that the layering exploit applied to raids. Blizzard publically commented on the Molten Core respawns and said it was an unrelated bug not from layering. If there’s a new exploit post a link to the disscussion of it.
Wow nothing in here about congratulations to the people ;/ Blizz has already issued out bans for the exploits, and given that ingots used in this are not bind-on-pickup it’s not impossible that everyone in their guild wanted to boost this one person so he gets that mace.
Boosting of one person within your guild was not unheard of in Vanilla, so I doubt it’s no different than here lol
People being clueless about how vanilla worked and basic math with drop rates are two entirely different calculations.
They definitely exploited this.
It doesn’t really matter where it goes since ret and enchance are trash specs. Who cares if its their bis when their only role is healing.
It’s not that much of an accomplishment when 90% of getting Sulfuras is getting a low % drop. You could potentially be the best player in the world and clear Rag every week without ever seeing one, while Window Licker Jim could get it on his first run. Yeah, you have to get the ingots, but that’s just gold, I’m sure any streamer could get their army of slaves to funnel enough gold for them to do it too if they got the RNG drop.
Window Licker Jim made me giggle lol. Reading your post made me think of those claw machines how they’re set at some certain payout. IE; everyone $1000 put it is one chance of someone winning the top product
Lol you realise that its classic fan that keep bringing layering as a excuse for everything??? Yeah its might be hard to realise that classic player are also troll…
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what true jealousy looks like.
The Sulfuron Ingot is BOE. I can easily envison a scenario in which other guilds gift/sell their ingots to help the server get a world first.
Well it seems there’s a lot more “luck” in classic than there ever was in vanilla.
